I had to laugh when I read this:

...a very dumb guy who's got a lot of money and lots of people who think he's awesome this all gives him a vastly over inflated opinion of
himself. He thinks he's a god[sic] and can do whatever he wants and people will love him for it.

Could almost be a cut-and-paste from this thread.

No, it's not about Cooper. It's a comment to an on-line article in London's Daily Telegraph about Mike Phillips, the Welsh scrum-half.

SONNY Bill Williams will only play in the NRL next year if Quade Cooper is beside him, with the pair looking certain to be in the same team, whether it be league or union.

The Sunday Telegraph has learned Williams and Cooper will now come as a package deal, such is the desire of the two stars to play together.

While Williams has long been linked to the Roosters, he has never publicly said which club he is joining - nor has he signed any NRL contract.

Cooper, whose stunning attack on the ARU has signalled the end of his Wallabies career, has suddenly become an integral part of any deal Williams does sign for 2013.

What happened to SBWs handshake agreement? This is getting weird, when did Quade and SBW become BFF?

Edit - just looked at some league forums, apparantly wests tigers have plenty of salary cap room and are lacking a fullback and centre. (as well as forwards) they reckon that's the most likely team.

They've been BFF for a long time.

Honestly I wouldn't pay much attention to speculation when it comes to anyone managed by Khoder. Its impossible to sort out what is legitimate info and what is fed by him for his nefarious purposes.

PRETORIA: The Australian Rugby Union will wait until after the end of the Rugby Championship to try to solve its dispute with disenchanted Test five-eighth Quade Cooper.
The ARU chief executive, John O'Neill, who arrived in Pretoria on Friday night, said after several days of drama surrounding Cooper's attack on the culture of the Australian rugby team, including that he did not want to play for the Wallabies, it was necessary to have ''a cooling off period''.
O'Neill plans to talk to Cooper and his management following the Wallabies' final Rugby Championship match against Argentina in Rosario next Saturday. ''Hopefully this will give everyone time to properly think through the situation,'' O'Neill said. Several senior players have also indicated they are eager to talk to O'Neill about the Cooper issue, and meetings will be put in place next month. It is clear Cooper has disenchanted numerous Wallabies with his inflammatory remarks. O'Neill, who will next week attend an International Rugby Board meeting in Cape Town, stressed it was important the Wallabies were not distracted any further in the Rugby Championship.

I know, it's just strange. Khmer is doing a great job, rosters have pretty much already been pimping SBW for next year, now all of a sudden the seed of doubt is planted. Brilliant stuff.

Notice that with all the Wallaby sponsor commercials, Samsung Unite, Castrol, Swisse etc, that Quade doesn't feature. Seeing that he is one of the more recognized Wallabies you think he'd be in at least one of them.

That's Nasser, he is a confrontational guy. Sponsorships are about relationships, his clients have very few if any.
SBW should be on every billboard in NZ he is so marketable, but he is not.

To be fair, SBW had a very lucrative deal with Rebel Sport and he was blanketing the air waves for a while during the World Cup.

I take your point though.

He actually signed sonny to a different manufacturer to Adidas after he knew sonny couldn't wear anything else. He then complained and fought for sonny to be allowed to wear what he wants.

Also, one of the reasons he gave for him leaving the bulldogs was that they used sonny in programs and pictures for marketing yet he didn't receive extra money for it.

Well if that isn't proof there is some huge issues in Australian rugby I don't what is..... Maybe Quade is the only one man enough to say something about. Yes the injuries are hurting us, but I feel that the second string players and younger members of our team haven't received the development they deserve. The proof of that is we currently don't have the depth in our team. Robbie Deans has done a good job with our team but I feel its long overdue he him to step aside for Ewen McKensie.

Yep, proof we don't need him. Always said JOC (James O'Connor) and Beale and more talented and generally you only want 2 of the 3 on the field at the same time..

I think I've only posted once in this thread, so I'll have one more go at it.

I do think it's a Gen Y thing. I teach Gen Y at university and I'm constantly astounded - gobmacked - at how they feel the world owes them a living. Very often when I fail someone they'll trot out the "But I paid for this course" argument. The 3 amigos keep reminding me of my students - all rights, no responsibilities.

I don't want to punish them for this - they genuinely don't realise how unattractive their behaviour is for us old-timers. But they do need to be gently lowered into harsh reality. My rule with my students is the same for my own kids - kind but firm. You need to police the boundaries tightly - very tightly - but you do it with compassion. If somebody in the Wallabies camp broke curfew, you'd say "I'm sorry, but we're dropping you for two games. Here's the number for the Wallabies sports psychologist if you need to talk to someone. Keep yourself fit and we all look forward to seeing you in 2 weeks."

I think the Wallabies set-up hasn't been getting this right. They do have a duty of care to their employees, but it's in everyone's interest to police the boundaries. Seems like they've been getting most of this wrong, and JON's slightly smart-arse statement doesn't fill me with confidence. No good letting them get away with murder then sounding surprised when they go of the rails. The "trick," if you want to call it that, is to sound genuinely sorry when your charges go off the rails, but also making clear that there's only one person who can change that.

Much of what you say is so right Scarfman, but there are some Gen Y kids in the Wobs who are not behaving in the stereotypical Gen Y manner. My other point is that I can recall plenty of Gen Old Fart who were also princesses who believed the world owed them a living as well.

Yes, Management need to adopt appropriate strategies to deal with the princesses as you have described. That has been lacking, or from my crows nest observation point, it appears to lacking. There is always much more going on in the background that we punters don't get to see. Much of this current situation could have been prevented with better communication skills and discipline.

There is discussion on other threads about Deans and Mitchell when they were running the Darkness, and internal discipline problems with a drinking culture. Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose. Unless change is made, history will repeat itself.

Before Pocock went to Churchie he went to he School of Hard Knocks, Zimbabwe. No wonder he's the best one.

I agree about Deans. His man management seems to be non-existent.

Can we turn this into a Deans issue? Pleeeeaaaase?
