Quade seems to talk in riddles.
He just makes no sense
He talks about nothing making him happier than to be able to stay in rugby and play for the Reds and Wallabies. Then in the next breath says he wants to play with Sonny in Mungoball. HELLO!!!

Then he rabbits on about the complete lack of facilities for the Wallabies.
What does he want? .........an Australian Institute of Rugby over 8 floors incorporating a nutrition department, psychotherapy division, hot tub, sushi bar, personal assistant, masseuse and private butler service?

What do you need as a rugby team??
Answer - A rugby ball. A paddock to train your arse off on. A set of sticks at either end to practice kicking the ball through. A scrum machine and a good old fashioned gym with lots of heavy iron.
Most importantly you need a team with a hard edge, mongrel and the unstoppable motivation to use the above with intent.
The rest is Gen Y BS.
I am looking straight at you Quade.

QC (Quade Cooper) is 24 and a princess.

When I was 24, I also thought I was fireproof. I was rather media naive as well.

Back then "old" was 30 something or so, there was then the "really old" and these were the thirty thrumphs and above up to about 1000 years old all lumped in the one bucket.

Looking back, I was lucky to have some very wise heads around me, family and work related, that gave good advice without being overbearing. I also listened and learned from the old ones. I was pretty sh1t hot at things, but not to the point of delusion where I thought the world owed me a living.

I don't think the issue with QC (Quade Cooper) is a gen Y thing, because I see plenty of gen x and Y out there that are not acting like QC (Quade Cooper) is, and there were some of my peer group way beck when I was 24 that exhibited characteristics similar to Mr Cooper, although not quite on such a public level as Mr Cooper.

Blaming Gen Y is a cop out and a gross oversimplification.

I had some drinks this Arvo with a team rehab member, can say that the divide in the team that was mentioned during the week of the group of young guys "getting away with murder" seems to be true. He believes this is a power grab and that if change is made for Quade a few players will be on the outer. The rat pack believe its there time.

I agree, I think it's the Wayne Carey syndrome.
No one has ever told them
a) to pull their head in.
b) Their behaviour is unacceptable.
c) There will be ramifications for poor behaviour.
They are surrounded by sycophants and enablers.Look at the hysteria around this place in the past 2 years whenever anyone has dared to criticise him.
Unbelievably people are still defending him despite he not being able to explain what it is exactly he so strongly objects to.At what stage will people say enough is enough?

If gen y is a problem, it also falls on the management and coaching of the players to take responsibility for there actions and help them mature to the needs and beliefs of the group. Generational change is everyone's problem.

Is there a rat pack? Yes

Are they getting away with crashing cars, missing photo calls, being unfit, getting into fights - Yes

Have RD and JON painted themselves into a corner for not being consistent in disciplining them? - Yes

Does Quade (and the pack?) think RD and the current coaching set up sucks and want it changed? - Yes

Does Quade want Link in to change that? - Yes

If/when Link gets his shot, will he put up with the rat pack's antics? - No

Why won't link put up with the rat packs antics? He doesn't discipline the leader at Qld?

I think Quade is doing a massive disservice to link. He is illustrating in only wanting to play for him that link may be to close to the players to drive "change". At least from an ARU perspective. They may believe that an outsider would be better.

I think NFJ got it right when he said they have everything at their disposal to be the best they want to be (and the way I heard it it was beyond "facilitates"). He was talking as some old fuddy duddy from the golden era - he said it as someone heavily involved in NSW rugby and in the know and deals with the ARU.

How did you guys interpret Sharpies reply to Drew Mitchells tweet this week?

When Drew said he was struggling to bite his tounge and Sharpie fired back "about what?", did you hear a bloke having a joke with a team mate or the Wallabies captain warning off a younger player about going off reservation?

I can't help but think this "rat pack" could have only formed in the absence of strong leadership. Robbie has had mixed results communicating with the players from the start and his captain for the bulk of his tenure was Rocky, who probably relates well with people who have autistic spectrum disorders but is quite unfathomable to the average bloke.

I wonder if we would find ourselves in this mess if Sharpie had been captain for the last 5 years.

I thought sharpe was having a laugh. He would have been asked about Quade 1000000000 times this week, saw it as him having a joke. Drew Mitchell is part of the leadership group. Wouldn't classify him as a younger player.
