Quick Question who has the best chop tackle in the comp
I have three answers to this question

1. B.Smith (BGS) - Similar to L.Clifford where although he is a prop with larger size, he knows how to get low and crunch the ball carrier into the sand.
2. A.Illot (GT) - Textbook tackles getting low and basically tripping the carrier over
3. I.Balvara (Apologies if I have butchered the name) - IMO he has stepped up his defence the most from last year to this year. You will run past the bloke and not even see him tackle you. That's how low he gets.

Player Report… (All this information has been given to me by mate, who works on the rugby board from Downlands College).

Dominic Aleafu-Murphy
Where do I start… Close your eyes and just imagine a hard hitting, fast, compact blindside flanker. And you will almost certainly see Aleafu-Murphy. Dominic, has recently moved from Napier, New Zealand to the boarding house of Downlands College… He isn’t eligible to play for either the 16As or the 1st XV, due to him joining so late in the school year… However, the GPS should consider themselves lucky, that they don’t have to play this low chop specialist of Tongan descendant, this season. It’s a shame that this player wasn’t picked up by one of the power schools of the GPS eg NC, BBC and TSS. Although, that’s just how footy is sometimes. Everyone keep your eye out for this player, in your school’s respective bye round next year.

B6.

No he is not the skip, Luke Thornton (THORNADO) is new to BSHS this year after a move from BBC at then end of 2023, Don't know why he did this move but it has really worked out for him.
Yeah think that was the best move for him. He has flourished like a flower at State High.

Hot take but I do not thing Suielapa is the best player on that State high team. I am going to ensure to play the ball and not the man. Although he is undoubdtley a massive threat because of his limited experience he lacks intent around the ruck and line out. Not a dig at all as I think he is the most talented player in the comp. But if I was a coach and I had to chose a player from that team it wouldn't be Suielepa.
