What I love about the culture around New Zealand school boy and men’s rugby, is that they respect themselves and their opponents so much, to the degree that they find ridiculing their opponents appalling. There is such honour and humility in their victories.

Kings 1 and 3 imo have been the best props in the competition. I could honestly see a case were kings 3 is in that GPS 1s side instead of 16s.

Kings seem to be able to develop great props, just last year having 3 out of 4 of the props in GPS 1s and 2s.

TKS 1 & 3 have scrummed together since U13A at Oakhill. #1 then moved to TKS in 2023 and #3 joined in 2024. I have heard from close and trustworthy source that both moved to TKS to develop their techniques in playing as props. Wish them both all the best. #3 being only 16 not sure if he qualifies to be in GPS 18.

Agree with most of this however I think that Kings has the dominant scrum throughout the game. They were a close contest though. The loose head for kings was great at sacking the maul also. The tight head for View played an outstanding game also with some great carries.

Views lineouts were exceptional, scrums I thought were 50/50 until 2nd half. GPS yet to realise King's scrum struggle back end of games,

I think your right. In a 2 round competition 10 games - you can afford to lose 1 game and maybe a draw but 2 losses a draw and 1 win from 4 the % chance would be pretty low. You then need to start relying on other results and upsets.

I have to agree with this somewhat. Shore and Scots were entering the fray with complete confidence but ironically their doing the worst. I still believe ( I have said before) the competition this year is far to close for anyone to be calling anything yet and I could still see Shore rising to the top with some miracle. However the team that truly has surprised me is Newington and props to them. Alas only time will tell and the victor will be truly unveiled ...
