From an outsiders point of view (and lets face it, none of us really have any idea what is going on inside Camp Wallaby), the issue would appear to be one of culture. You would hope by now that these guys can actually play rugby. Most of them would have at least 15 years of experience behind them and would have risen through the ranks because of their ability and skills. So why is it all going to shit on a regular basis?
The Wallabies are an organisation. And any organisation needs a leader. And that leader is responsible for developing the culture of his 'employees'. The CEO, MD etc sets the examples, lays down law, leads from the front, develops the characteristics and personality of his organisation. Whilst JON is obviously the boss of the ARU, the boss of the Wallabies playing outfit is Deans. And therefore, quite rightly, he is being put under close scrutiny. It is up to him and his management team to get these guys fired up, to get them to the stage where they would be prepared to crawl across broken glass if it meant helping out a teammate or securing the ball. Now he may well be trying to do that behind doors but all the public sees is this persistent babbling and crypto talk. Does it inspire? Does it encourage you? Does it make you think that you would like to work for this guy.
There is another thread on the subject of Wallabies Twitter use and I have to agree with the original poster. Judging by what the players are posting, the attitude in Camp Wallaby appears to be very relaxed, very casual. That just simply should not be the case. These guys should be frightened. They should be tense. They should be on the edge. They should be knackered. There was one Tweet during the week, cant remember who from, aimed at the Kiwi players and saying they need to get with the modern age and Twitter up like the Wallabies. Well, just perhaps they are too busy preparing for the match and being professional sportsmen, not wannabe C-list social starlets.
Robbie, clear your heard of all you stupid talk and language and get fired up. I am sure that you are burning and hurting inside. Lets see it. Let the players see it. Get them fired up. Get them mad. Get them angry. Get them passionate. Get them proud to be playing for their country. Get them honored to be wearing the Green n Gold. Get them playing the good, honest, hard rugby they are capable of. And if you cant mange that, then GTF.
