All we can do is speculate, as above. We won't know for sure until they line up to take a kick. I would imagine Harris, Lilo, JO'C and Ebersohn would be kicking though.
McKenzie really is the bane of Fantasy coaches! He stuffs around till late Friday before he names his run on team. He did this all last season so get used to it fellas. Kimlin in and agree with you about the kickers Red Baron. Cooper the egotistical so and so might put his hand up but Harris is far more accurate. Fox really have to get their act together with players available if they want to run a professional fantasy competition. It undermines all the effort they put into other areas of their rugby promotion. One of us here could do a far better job. Good luck with the teams fellas and ladies.

First cut done. Will think about it over tomorrow, and feedback appreciated. My current issue is that I am not sure on the status of some of the Kiwi and Saffa players - I think I will need to hop on over for a quick read of TSF. I especially lack Saffas on the bench.

Props: Alexander (VC), Slipper, res: Deon Carstens [anoyone know a cheap reserve starting prop?]

Hookers: Moore (C), res: Hika Elliot [maybe I should buy a cheaper reserve hooker?]

Locks: Pyle, AWH, res: Retallick [plan is for Retallick to swap in for AWH after week one]

Flankers: Pocock, Gill, McCalman, res: Savea [McCalman is my smokey, I stole the Savea tip but really he's just a bench warmer]

HB: Alby, res: Pretorius [think I have overspent on my reserve and I need to plan my subs better, especially as Alby plays the Kings next week! I think I should just buy a token reserve HB]

FH: Lealiifano, res: Lambie [Lambie is a long term bet, but again might be better with a cheapie and holding onto Lealiifano long term]

Centres: JOC (James O'Connor), CTM, res: Ngatai [CTM is a smokey, as is Ngatai. Wish I would know if Ngatai or Aki will be starting. If CTM plays vs the Kings in round 2, he could be a real handful]

Outside: Ioane, Honey Badger, Mafi, res: Johnny McNicholl [Actually, I think Ioane is probably not a good choice here - may struggle to get points vs the Ponies and Tahs early on which could be dour games. Speight may be a better bet]

Any feedback / suggestions? I only have $70k left in the bank which isn't enough to adequately replace CTM with a good centre in round 3 (or round 2 if he's dropped). Actually reckon CTM could be a good pick, potentially.

My best move may be to drop Lambie and Pretorius for cheap bench warmers.

I have Diggers in my team also, yet I am debating his actual worth considering his price tag.

As far as your starting xv goes Ash, I think it is reasonably well balanced bar the backrow. 2 fetchers (Pocock and Gill) tend to unbalance the backrow, especially if the ref is whistle happy. A better bet would be to replace one of them with a ball runner, who is also a viable lineout option. This should compliment your second rowers perfectly. Maybe look at guys like Delve, Mowen, Higgers, etc.

A good option for your backup flyhalf might be Sias Ebersohn. He is generally an accurate goalkicker, and is guaranteed to play plenty of minutes for the force. While Lambie is a good player, I think Ebersohn is a good option for the cost sensitive player.

Keep an eye on the team sheets to ensure CTM starts. If not, Mike Harris is a good alternative. He brings in the added bonus of being an accurate goal kicker.

Here's my team for Round 1. So far this is just a placeholder team, and I am going to make a few changes before the cutoff
Any thoughts?

I've made one or two decisions on NZ/SA bench players based on long term injuries to starters from their team. It will either be a genius move or ruin my season after only Round 2.

Wish me luck.

If anyone wants to know the Points per game value of some players I'll be logged in here for a fair bit of the day.

Seems a big punt to go cheap on your hooker. Stephen Moore seems a hard player not to pick based on being the highest scorer in the entirety of Fantasy Rugby last year.

Moral of the story: a cheap hooker is never a good idea.

Aside from the resultant loss in your standings from selecting a cheap hooker, they also prevent you from succeeding with other selections in the future - when fantasy becomes a nightmare.
But it can be difficult to find a good hooker.

Does anyone know where the actualy teams will be listed as they are named? Fox had a page last year but can't find it this year... yet.

My side so far

Not sure about:

Kimlin - Did I hear that he is injured?
LiLo - Is he going to be back round 1? He made me a motza until injury last year.

Try the 'Rugby Heaven' website from the Sydney Morning Herald.

Damn the Force. Ruined my plans already! I need to significantly shuffle my team now.

Cummins ain't playing.

But a good looking team besides that.
.

No Cummins is making life difficult. Very hard to pick outside backs considering Mafi is the only selectable player from the force or rebels and also being limited to maximum of 5 from each team

So Cummins not playing forced me to reshuffle my team. Here's is what I am going with. The following few rounds are going to be interesting as I will have to start transferring in SA and NZ players.

Steve Luatua is a good lock for the bench, will play 6 with a loose game and takes a lot of lineouts.
