Wouldn't pick any Reds at this stage.

I am aiming for my backs to be:

Mathewson
Godwin
Inman, Kuridrani
Speight, Foley, Woodward

Bench: Perenara, Carter, Aki, Piatau

If you do not have a wildcard, you NEED TO REPLACE ANSCOMBE if you want the max number of players in the next two weeks.

In fact, without a wild card you are screwed next week. Just make sure you have an Aussie prop, backrower and outside back that will be available. Then you can get some points.

One transfer left, advice welcome (already swapped Mathewson and Perenara).

You may as well swap out Bundee Aki as you definitely need to find another centre for next week.

My team this week is:

Props: Slipper, Ta'avao (Cowan)
Hooker: Robinson (c) (Strauss)
Locks: Luatua, Pyle (Thorn)
BR: Higginbotham, Fainga'a, Labuschagne (Ioane)
HB: White (Mathewson)
FH: Lealiifano (Godwin)
C: O'Connor, Ebersohn (Inman)
OB: Folau, Speight, Piutau (Foley)

I lost my challenge round last week which was all I was really still playing for. Assuming everyone who should play next week does, my 6 transfers will allow me to make a full team (prop, lock, 2x BR, centre, OB). Alternatively, I have my wildcard left.

I'm sitting pretty good for next week, can get a full team with just 4 transfers - 2 * backrow, 1 * centre, 1 * outside back. This gives me 2 transfers to cover injury or poor form.

The week after I will be using my wild card. Of course, all of this for me is rather moot because I lost my second cup round and am well back over all.

I have a few big weaknesses this week, particularly in the back row, and perhaps in the outside backs with the Tahs against the 'Saders.

Props: Slipper (c), Ferreira, (Cowan)
Hookers: Ged (vc), (Strauss)
Locks: Luatua, Pyle, (Kimlin)
Flankers: Labuschagne, Whitelock, Saffy, (Quirk)
Halfback: TJ Perrenara, (Alby)
Flyhalf: Morne Steyn, (Godwin)
Centres: Saili, Ebersohn, (Inman)
Outside backs: Folau, Foley, Piatau, (Speight)

In a lot of ways, my team and Braveheart81's team are very similar. Worrying for BH, based on my performance so far this year!

BH's backrow looks better than mine; I probably would have brought in JOC (James O'Connor) to my centres, but I was agonisingly 5k short and had to take Saili instead. We'll see in BH chose better in putting Foley to the bench ahead of Speight; I suspect he did. Otherwise, I think Perrenara might outscore White. Maybe. Steyn v Lealiifano will be interesting too.

This year the Lions tour has made the Fantasy comp the hardest ever. I feel for anyone like myself who had to use their wildcard early - to do well as distinct from surviving, you had to keep the wildcard for round 18. I also feel for guys like Bullrush, who will only have a few counting players next week unless they completely revamp this week. For aussies, it has helped that they have had local knowledge of who is in the Lions squad. Kiwi's and saffers without this specialised knowledge will really be behind the eight-ball next week.

With the news that Foley is playing in the RWC 7s, is he going to miss the round 17 match or is he still playing for the next two weeks?

Well, hopefully I've saved myself a little bit.......if all goes well, I'll only have 2 players not playing next week.

Sorry but unless I've got the count wrong you'll need to make 9 changes and they only allow 6 changes next week. That's three dead players unless the ARU step in and allow Folau or Lilo to play. Given the Tahs loss tonight I think you've got no chance on Folau.

I think Bullrush has counted correctly, you will only have 13 players available next week, with Henderson, Robinson, Kimlin, Fuglistaller, Mathewson, Inman and Speight playing

Three weeks of having Luatua or Thorn on the bench with Kimlin on field and he is my worst lock. Take him off and he almost pulls off 40.

Yeah, Kimlin with a big one this week after a few poor Fantasy weeks. Bloody hell. Very unpredictable.

In a perverse way, glad that I am not the only one with Kimlin on my bench.

My bad. I missed Mathewson - I counted him as a Kiwi. Bullrush has 13 starters next week.

Now it gets interesting! So my strategy for 16,17,18 has been to go into 16 with my strongest team and have my strongest team in 18. Which means just picking round 17 on the merits of those Australians around. My thinking was that I would make ground in Rounds 16 and Rounds 18 over those who bring in lower performing Australians as they prepare for Round 17. So far so good.

Before tackles for 3 players I've got 452 and well ahead of the average for the round. However on first glance I will be lucky to have 12 players for round 17, the issue is that I don't lose my nerve and try and pack up my team now rather than take the hit and have a full strength team for round 18.

Preparations for this round were successful. Team will likely be:
N. Henderson, P. Cowan (A. Ta'avao)
G. Robinson (D. Fourie)
P. Kimlin, S. Carter (S. Luatua)
S. Fuglistaller, C. Alcock, J. Saffy (J. Hardie)
B. McKibbon (S. Venter)
K. Godwin (B. Barrett)
M. Inman, R. Ebersohn (J. de Villiers)
C. Crawford, B. Foley, H. Speight (B. Smith)

namtrak Girlfriend wanted a go and used it in round 3 :S
But that's why I have two non-Australian centres - With six transfers next round, it works like this:
Centres, Hooker, Scrum half and Fly half are all covered by the bench.
Props and Locks need one transfer.
Backrow and Outside Backs need two transfers.

So everything is covered. IF my bench is full of players who are playing.
