Obviously you wouldn't put someone coming back from a shoulder injury in a position where he is likely to do more damage with the way he runs

True.

I would assume he'll eventually move in.

Just would hate to see him become our new AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), or wasted on the wing or fullback... particularly when we already have the depth for those positions...

Yep it does make sense bringing him slowly on the wing as he's not yet match fit, moreover hasn’t played a trial match either. The center defense worked well and against the Force… I just hope Lealiifano and Smith get a better understanding with running lines…

I noted the Cheetahs got belted against the Bulls at home on the weekend; they’ll not be happy tourists and will what to pick up some pride in the ACT with a win…

What I would like to see includes:
  • Nick White pinning Cheetahs in corner with kicks
  • Brumbies set piece solid
  • Keep pressure on Cheetahs lineout and scrum
  • Take points when on offer
  • No aimless kicking
  • Some deception and good passing from backs

White had the Brumbies train in their club uniforms yesterday...

Some quality work from Pat McCabe as a guest column writer:

One of the less hygienic members of the team, Ben Alexander, will be celebrating his 50th cap this weekend with a post-game shower. One of the best things about writing this column was the chance to throw some venom back at the Sloth, who spent the majority of his time as

Canberra Times said:
ACT Brumbies coach Jake White hopes former Wallabies mentor Eddie Jones can provide the "fresh eyes" his young team needs to ensure it continues its rapid Super Rugby improvement.
Jones will join the Brumbies briefly in April in his role as a consultant to cast his eye over training and pass on advice to White, his coaching staff and the players.

It was originally hoped Jones would join the Brumbies on their tour of South Africa as part of his six weeks working with the club.
But because he has taken a Japanese coaching job, he is unable to travel to the games against the Pretoria Bulls and Johannesburg Lions next month.

White is still keen to get valuable input from Jones – who was in charge of the Brumbies from 1998-2001 – into how his team is evolving.

some combos beginning to settle in... a very good sign for the Brumbies... the 2 locks Power and Crawford are playing great... Tomane sent a big message all the S15 squads on teh weekend, he's teh real deal and a fine finisher.... I also thought Andrew Smith and Henry Speight played well... Mogg has a massive left foot boot...

I think you mean Carter (not Crawford), who has been putting a lot of work in the past few weeks... nearly made as many tackles as Hooper on the weekend with 21 out of 22 attempts...

Tomane is certainly a good finisher, but needs to go looking for more work.

He'll certainly earn another start next week but there are guys like Crawford and Kurdrani who can easily takeover from him...

To'omua will be back this week, but he'll have to play his way off the bench with Lilo in good form and McCabe/Smith forming a solid centre partnership...

I would suggest that Smith is arguably the form Australian 13 so far... and McCabe has been mixing up his game a lot more which is good to see...

Yep apologies Carter and Power locks... the Brumbies will need all their strengths coming up against a Sharks team which will now have settled in their second game in OZ... Tomane will get better as will Mogg but both off to a great start this season. Tomane delt with Gear easily.

Prior has been playing well at scrum half. No news on injuries with the Brumbies Kimo left the field a little tight so I was wondering how he pulled up…

I do feel for Colin Slade, he's a great player who has had a terrible run of bad luck...

Super 15 Rugby Round 5 - Team of Round 5

Michael Hooper was the highest scoring player in Round 5

Super Rugby 2012 Team of Round 5 has been named and there are plenty of new players in this team. Brumbies tearaway openside flanker Michael Hooper scored 575 points to be the highest scoring www.testrugby.com points scorer, not bad for someone worth under $600,000. Hooper's performance inspired the Brumbies to a win over the Highlanders.

While Hooper was a new inclusion, there are plenty of regulars in this team including Nathan Sharpe, Johan Goosen and Willie Le Roux. Goosen, Hooper, Le Roux, Beauden Barrett, Shaun Treeby and Jacques Potgieter are all amazing bargains who made the Super 15 Rugby Team of Round 5.

There isn't the usual domination by New Zealand players this week with six South Africans and two Australians joining the four New Zealand players.
