Interesting that people with certain opinions are being appauded for "not staying silent" what at the same time denying another person the right to express their views.

The preservation of our rights and freedoms actually means that we stand up for the rights of people we don't like and the freedom of those with whom we disagree to state their view.

yes, but we also need to protect that freedom from those who would take it away. These are groups who if they could would make it difficult at best for reasonable people to carry on their life. Unfortunately the biggest threat medium to longer term are religious organisations.

The last thing I want to add to this topic is that no one at any time has denied anyone the right to express their views.

Which is vastly different from being given a year off in the middle.

Yes and no. Personally I don't agree with the year in the middle being the sabbatical, however I don't have any issues with the pay being spread over 3 years. Or 10 years for that matter, as long as the amount is the same.

A lot of these Kiwi's live in glass houses. They all stayed pretty quiet when Aaron "Afterdavid" Smith, and Kaino were busted cheating or their wives. Or how the NZRU had to set up a panel to investigate how New Zealand players treat women.

What panel was set up? Just wondering...

Curious to know if you think the Beale incident similarly precludes MHooper & others having a public position on this issue?

I admire RA position on this because they didn't succumb to public opinion.

I know they are also trying to resign one of their superstars and they need to tread with caution but i as a fan would of been extremely disappointed had they punished Israel for his beliefs which he is not pushing on anybody (answering a question/hopefully lesson is learned. Don't answer said question next time)

What sucks is our whole "boycott this or boycott that" mob mentality when a isolated incident then has ramifications for a organisation/franchise.

Anybody see the story in America over weekend where a Starbucks manager/employee called the cops on some black customers who hadn't yet made a purchase and were waiting on their friends? well the police evicted them and immediately there was a "boycott Starbucks" campaign. think it's very unfair to punish organisations like that when it's isolated incident & 9999 out of 10000 stores do not operate like this. Well the good news is that all starbucks will be closing one afternoon soon for "racial training"

Can we not use Israel Folau social media dilemma to educate Israel himself and the rest of our playing group about what's acceptable rather then punishing player because we have a angry mob jumping in on QANTAS/ASICS social media pages asking for a boycott/quit as sponsors. The freedom fighters of political correctness are almost as bad as the instigators themselves. absolutely no need to make mountains out of ant-hills

Having had a coffee at Starbucks in their abortive attempt to push their 'coffee' (filth) on the Australian market i fully support any and all Starbucks boycotts.

This is a great segway point to get off Israel Folau and talk about how in general Americans don't appreciate good coffee. Can never get a good flat-white on the other side of the Pacific. Zombies que at Starbucks to be served Long Black which they add their own cream.. It's maddening.

Getting way off topic, but there are plenty of places on the west and east coast (LA, SF, Portland and NYC specifically) where you can get good antipodean style coffee..........

I actually had a bit of a smile as Izzy obviously thinks I am going to hell too, and I suspect an awful lot of us, as the Corinthian's or whatever he quoted also says fornicators, drunkards ,adulterers are all headed the same way. I have no problem admitting I have been a fornicator and have not repented;) ! Perhaps have been drunk a fair few times too, so guess I am in Izzy's world destined for hell!!
Guess I won't have to put up with god botherers like him down there:p
