Let Folau go. There’s no way he is worth the money he is paid by rugby: he just doesn’t and can’t make enough of a difference. No one player can. That said, he seems to have a fair handle on who is number one in the rugby pecking order in this country:

“I acknowledge Raelene and Andrew have to run things in a way that appeals broadly to their executive, fans and sponsors, as well as its players and staff. It is a business.”

Let him go in respect of the crazy money he is paid, not for expressing his personal views on a particular subject, one as emotive as this. No player is worth the sort of money this bloke sucks out of rugby and 10% of the gross sum goes to the Church, his church. Therefore is RA indirectly supporting the Mormon faith are we as followers of RA, doing the same.

Pococock got away with plenty.

The game is bigger than either of these 2 (or any) players.

Don't think he is a Mormon anymore, believe he is a Pentecostal/Assemblies of God.

Cannot imagine a Mormon going public with something like this. Yes, he is obviously an evangelical, probably AOG. I wonder if he believes that the earth is flat? After all, that is pretty much what Genesis says.

Ah no, not quite. But I'm not going to derail topic. You can private message to continue.

I'm not sure how Pocock fits into that rant?

Is he earning that much money now that he's not interested in any corporate gigs when he retires?

I don't think we are allowed to discuss this on these forums, and regardless it appears to be over. Folau said he would leave if Raelene thought his position was untenable and she has said it is not. Over.

STATEMENT REGARDING ISRAEL FOLAUAPRIL 17, 2018

Rugby Australia will not sanction Israel Folau for his comment posted on a social media platform on April 4.

Referring to an article written by Folau and published online overnight, Rugby Australia Chief Executive, Raelene Castle said: “In his article, Israel clearly articulated his religious beliefs and why his faith is important to him and has provided context behind his social media comment.

“In his own words, Israel said that he did not intend to upset people intentionally or bring hurt to the game. We accept Israel’s position.

“Rugby Australia will use this experience as an opportunity to remind all employees of their obligation to use social media in a respectful way.”

I think AOG is a proponent of tithing as a recognition that everything we have comes from God (my brother-in-law is a member).

Don't know about that.

Everything for Israel (salary wise) comes from RA.

Of course years ago John O'N would have made a case that he was God:D

How about we support Qantas in their not dealing with extremist organisations/countries.
How can we support them? should we take their sponsorship? does it implicate you?

I was thinking we could encourage Qantas to have electronic counters on the outside of their planes, progressively showing the number people beheaded that year for crimes that would not be a crime here.
Maybe RA could have a ceremonial(fake) beheading of the captain of the last super team to keep the effort in the public eye.
