Inside Shoulder

Nathan Sharpe (72)
Assuming all centres rooted:
Harris at 12 - for goal kicking
Folau at 13 - big risk in a way but he needs to touch the ball more than he did.
Honey Badger for Digby, even if fit.
10? KB (Kurtley Beale) - but based on that quote RD will stick with Brand O'Connor.
Still a wing short.
Experience?
Rathbone!

Something just occurred to me in the event that AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is out and we need a 13:

UNLEASH THE HONEY BADGER!

Tap's has a call up, few weeks ago deans was blaming cooper for his poor so far this season. So cooper must be playing a lot better and taps form has gone up.

Glade Jesse mogg is there, hope he starts this weekend at fullback.

I don't see why Mogg has been called in. You've got Beale and Folau in the squad as well as Tomane and Cummins. 12 and 13 are big problems for you guys though....

Outside centre. He has been brought in as a replacement for AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper).

Seriously though, I hope Deans doesn't wildly vary the line up if possible. He has trained the guys for weeks so try to keep the plan together and don't over react.
Could be. He played every position in the back line except wing and fullback in France apart from the odd spell at 6,7 and 8,

I'm interested to see what the Lions do defensively against Folau in the next test, even though he barely touched the ball in the second half he always seemed to have space in front of him the Wallabies just couldn't get the ball to him. I think in Gatlands head it will push him towards selecting Lydiate and seeing if he can do a man marking job with his chop tackles, with North assisting him.

My pre game predictions about Vunipola and Coles scrummaging woes came to fruition unfortunately. Rowntrees influence in getting those two blokes on should have cost the Lions the game. If Mike Ross or Euan Murray were in that situation they sure as hell wouldn't have given away a penalty. This is an area where the Lions are paying the penalty of poor selection, if Grant has a decent performance against the Rebels he should be on the bench for this test. Vunipolas ball carrying is irrelevant when he can't lock the scrum, and this has been proven many times this season. I think we can now add Corbiserio to the Lions list of players who they can't afford to lose at any point in this game, he now joins POC, Sexton, Adam Jones and Halfpenny.

You started poorly there but finished well.

Slipper was bloody good at loose head against the highly overrated Cole. He's a better tight head than Alexander too.

What was Robinson's injury?

Ben A did ok against the first string props and it was the lions who popped on the first scrum.

I just don't think Deans sees Folau as a fullback unless in a real emergency. So need another specialist in there. Much the same view that Henry and Hansen have had of Jane I guess.

Looking forward to this test, more so as a Wallabies win relies on us tieing it 1 all in Melbourne.

We all know the men in gold always start the international season off on a bad note (Scotland 2012 and Samoa 2011 anyone?).

They will bounce back as they always do from a loss and expect Beale, JOC (James O'Connor) etc. to be kicking soundly this weekend. Not to mention we didn't get to see what Leali'ifano would do, so he could be the game-breaker!

O'Connell and Corbisiero (sp?) are reported on Roar to be out due to injury. O'Connell with a Broken bone in the hand and Corbi with a calf injury. Tom Court has been called in as he was visiting his parents. This alters the dynamics a bit. Parling was to lead the team against the Rebels but has been withdrawn so I guess he is starting on Saturday.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) has a brace for the shoulder, says it's good but also said "hope to be right for saturday".
Lealiifano was up and right this morning according to Digby.

According to the Crimes Lilo should be right to go for the second test, but there's doubt on McCabe, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Barnes with McCabe being very unlikely to return..........

Horwill should not be playing the second test.

His act was that of a thug, and no better that Paul Gallen in the recent Greco-roman Rugby game.

Richard Loe would be proud of our Captain.

Horwill very fucking lucky. Looked ugly to me, but geez it would have been a big blow to lose him.

Looked so much worse in slow motion than it did at full speed. From where he was, he could not see him on the ground regardless.
Logic prevailed.

Went to the family fans day today. I was just expecting a few guys but it was practically the whole team sans Kevvy. Lotta sore boys. Well, Pocock looked alright :s. Anyways, they all rocked up, including Patty and he was real stiff, I got the sense he won't be back, but I spose it could come right. Did get a chance to tell Benny R what a good job he did.

Was great to see em all, and full credit to them for fronting up first thing after flights etc. Magic day for the family, strongly suggest the Sydney guys with family go.

I still haven't seen the front on angle of Horwill's incident so still don't have an opinion on it. The side on angle looks bad, but here's the thing:

- he's holding another player at torso level
- he's not an idiot - players know these days there are camera everywhere
- it was the weirdest leg manoeuvre I've ever seen

On the balance, if they can convince a foreign QC (Quade Cooper) (he's a kiwi I think) that it was intentional, then it wasn't

Of course, it's also karma for that flying knee Danny Grewcock delivered to Nic Stiles, or the endless choke hold/high tackles Martin Johnson put on Larkham, back in 2001

I was in Brisbane airport back in 2001 when the Wallabies all appeared. I walked over to John Eales, shook his hand and said "we'll get em next week"

You're welcome everyone

Horwill got off? Wow thats huge for us but I am very surprised....I wish I had (or could have afforded) his defence team when I got pinged for drink driving when I was a stupid and immature 17 year old. ;)
