The chat around this poor kid is peak Designated Messiah.Would this be the first time a player has been picked for a tour and his coach has never spoken to him?

"Abandon fear.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
I see him at 13 or 15 longer term. I don't really see the point of putting him on the wing in the meantime. That's where they started Folau. Do you mean 11 instead? I think Suallii has enough of a boot and aerial presence to play 14.
You reckon? I think its been pretty subdued tbh.The chat around this poor kid is peak Designated Messiah.
btw who here is responsible for maintaining The Wallabies Designated Messiah Family Tree? WHO?
How far back does it go? Before Mat Rogers? Before Lote Tuquiri even?

I'm probably wrong though.
bloke shouldn't be playingI'm not sure you (or I) would be asked mate!!
Agree with most of this - although I would point out Wilson topped the tackle count last week and was second highest this week so he is pretty industrious both sides of the ball.I have just watched the replay, I thought we were pretty good for 55 minutes. Even the other 25 minutes wasn’t that bad, we let 2 tries in and obviously the defensive system is an issue, but is that because it’s the wrong system, or just that they haven’t fully adapted to it yet? There was basically a 10 minute period in the second half where we lost the game and we were unlucky not to score on several occasions in the last 10 minutes or so, notwithstanding some outstanding defense from NZ. I made some comments along the way:
- can’t judge Tupou too much, he was clearly carrying an injury from minute 1 and was pretty bloody good considering . That play when he went out down the blindside, I don’t think he was expecting the ball.
- the kickoff when frost was tackled in the air, why wasn’t that a card?
- not suggesting the kick at goal to go to 13-12 was the wrong option but I think we would have scored a try if we took the line out or even a scrum, we had some good go forward going on
- I don’t think we can improve on this back row much at the moment. Charlie Cale might usurp Wilson eventually but right now, these are the right 4 guys. Wilson is slightly skewed to an attack role and Valetini to a defensive one.
- the Peranara fucked up quick tap and blaming the ref LOL
- Pietsch is one of the answers, purely for his work ethic. Williams is another answer
- that poor kick from Wright was a momentum changer from which we could not recover
- Schmidt clearly wants to get minutes into Lolesio
- the officiating around that disallowed All Blacks try in minute 61 gets the ‘worst officiating of the RC’ award
- I don’t really get the Kellaway hate. The pass from Wright that went into touch wasn’t because Kellaway wasn’t running fast enough, it was because it was a shit pass. Both those players were 6/10 but neither made enough meters for their respective positions
Sure, and Valetini would have some pretty good attack stats as well. I just mentioned the skew in their roles as a point of differentiation as a lot of pundits claim they don’t work well together as they play similar roles.Agree with most of this - although I would point out Wilson topped the tackle count last week and was second highest this week so he is pretty industrious both sides of the ball.
It suggest the contact with Wilson & Valetini is more workhorse v impact. I’d also suggest that is the reason Gleeson replaces Valetini as they are both filling the same role.
It’s academic anyway, but I think it’s safe to assume that if he continued on the same trajectory if he was still at the Brumbies before being let go by the Waratahs he would be somewhere around the squad. Certainly wouldn’t say he’d be a walk in though, agree we are pretty well stocked in that area.some Irish lad rekons mack Hanson would walk into the wallabies squad. I'm not so sure. wingers isn't a massive issue with the wallabies. what do you all think ?
that's my view as well. We need more quality tight forwards and halves. not wingersIt’s academic anyway, but I think it’s safe to assume that if he continued on the same trajectory if he was still at the Brumbies before being let go by the Waratahs he would be somewhere around the squad. How bright is the light and is the same as the light that leads to darkness?"Abandon fear.
Abandon the terror you project.
Rest in this, in the clear light of existence. This light is divine.
It was a shoulder charge...lol Savea didn't like someone putting a shot on him.
I put this on the Wobs24 thread, i think he is earmarked as our solution at 12. And I agree, there is no value at putting him on the wing if this is the case. He’s being paid a fortune so to start with just put him in the Aus A side in whatever position they want him to play, he’ll probably make a few fuck ups but as they say you learn more from your errors than your good things.I see him at 13 or 15 longer term. I don't really see the point of putting him on the wing in the meantime.

Both Italy and Fiji beat us the last time we played themI don’t have a clue how these world rugby rankings work but 10th in the world being below Fiji and Italy seems like they are slightly taking the piss.
Are we really about to be dropped to play Pacific Nations Cup now?
