    Rumour: Deans could be gone

Speaking of more traditional pre-match speeches to fire players up....

    What can you say?

This article is BS. The Wallabies were the first team to win two RWC's. Nobody else has won more. Unlike NZ or SA, we won them both on foreign soil, and has anyone contested more three RWC finals Wallabies? No. The Wallabies are an elite side and have a winning tradition in the professional...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

Ok, fair enough. I thought the impression left was that Deans was not wanted by Carter or McCaw to be the AB coach.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

Teach, this is interesting but how do you know this? I was aware that McCaw and Carter offered their support to Henry when Henry sounded them out on whether he should re-apply for the head coaching gig. However, I was not aware that these players "did not support" Deans.

    Podcast 76 with Laurie Fisher

It's refreshing when a coach actually speaks his mind and doesn't simply go down the anesthetized PR route. The interviewer did a pretty good job too it must be said. No straight bats, everyone hitting sweetly for the ropes. Nice one!

2012 Rugby Championship Round 3 Game 1 Australia vs South Africa - 8 Sep

Agree with everything here. Would really like to see Taps go at Test level; I thing he has the game. Would also like to see Chris Sautia play at higher level. He has all the physical attributes required and i think he is going to be fantastic.

Other than the excellent Podslam.. others?

I listen to G&GR's podslam every week and it's a superb hour of rugby analysis and discussion. I haven't been fortunate to find any others that come close in quality or consistency Anyone care to recommend some that offer a NZ or European perspective? (I have already eliminated the...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 Argentina vs South Africa - 25 August

Good performance from Argentina who were fabulous at the set-piece and break-down, They offer little running threat outside their pack. Boks were fortunate to secure draw. Aus are now last place with zero points.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

A complete beat-down. ABs just smashed us and have put 50 on if they didn't have white line fever. Wallabies need a change in leadership and an overhaul.

Calling a Quade a Quade and a spade a spade

Strongly disagree. Gatland has re-made Wales twice during his tenure; he completely rebuilt the team to win two Grand Slams. With Wasps, he led them to 2 HEC trophies and numerous Premierships with a team Wasps that had previously won absolutely nothing. Under him,. the Chiefs won their first...

Calling a Quade a Quade and a spade a spade

This is classic Gatland; he is not afraid to give a good quote. It takes the pressure and media focus away from his players and their performance and his hide is tough enough to deal with any comeback. He has done this from the very first.

    The Podslam..some ideas

I love the PODSLAM.. It's one of my favourite hours each week. Began thinking about who I would love to heard from this week..and... well.. I'd love to hear from some articulate, analytical coach (not that Gagger, Timms etc are not of course) not beholden to the ARU (eg. Eddie Jones, even...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

Gnostic, an excellent post and I couldn't agree more with the section I bolded. We could have Mark Ella/Larkham at 10 with Horan at 12 and it would not amount to much if the pack cannot generate better quality ball.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

Honestly, I'd say screw that to any apology. Enough 'cap in hand' to the ABs. Smash them. Upset them, and be prepared for derisive howls. Perhaps QC (Quade Cooper) was a little crude and idiotic in his behaviour but it's not as if McCaw can't get just a little cynical with his off the ball interference. I...

    The No. 7

Bardon, that post took genuine commitment.. I hope you dictated it, and are not suffering from hand cramp. A couple of points: The ABs, Boks and Aus have a clear philosophy at the breakdown and what they expect of their 7s. Brussow is gone from the Boks; he will not be selected again as...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

This game is going to be won or lost up front again this Saturday. If we don't generate more quick ball, we are not beating the ABs. With Pocock out, I'm increasingly pessimistic that the Wallabies can compete at the breakdown; we certainly have been ineffective without him. Do I want another...

    The ranting at Deans/ARU/O'Neill/Players thread

The Wallabies beat the ABs twice last year, and so I know that the Wallabies can beat the ABs if they get their selections right, and play with both intensity and confidence. I am tired of indifferent, poor performances in which the Wallabies fail to perform at the level we know they are...
