    Waratahs 2021

I kind of get your Penney hate, but personally I think the jury is out, a lot of the issues are beyond his control and in any case and he is never going to gat a fair hearing with this lot of cattle. But out of curiosity, even if you are right and its 100% Penney, who should be coaching the...

    Waratahs 2021

I don’t mind there being a high performance team in principle as there are meant to be distinct layers in NSW Rugby. Problem is at the moment there is only one layer and no performance! Does that mean that He is actually going to run for the position next month?? The inference would be that...

    Waratahs 2021

Yeah I’m not so sure. Hopefully we have bottomed out, 2023 is a World Cup year and while that in itself may not be a huge carrot, 2 years after we are hosting a Lions tour and 2 years after that we are hopefully hosting a World Cup. While I can’t speak for specific players, debt funding has...

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

It’s fairly common knowledge that the evolution of the Brumbies made them effectively the second NSW franchise. The rest is history. It’s fantasy to think that a third one can be scavenged from the NSW carcass. I do think said carcass can be reincarnated, but it will involve some people with...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I was about to edit that in above! Yes, in the absence of any sort of cross ditch encounters, they will no doubt do the north v south thing and we can hold the inaugural state of the union concept.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Plan b was always an extra round of the respective comps I think. With a 2 week lead in either country but more likely Aus could host a finals series over 2 weekends after that. Not ideal but in the current climate it would be a reasonable compromise ahead of the June tests

    Australian Rugby / RA

OK maybe a state vote and then a franchise vote, but you can't have a situation where say SA has the same voting power as Qld or NSW. Number of registered participants is still the fairest.

    Australian Rugby / RA

I wonder if the constitutional reform will be part of it. The voting structure definitely needs a rethink, it shouldn't be equal votes for every state though, a fluid pro rata arrangement based on the number of registered participants would be the fairest.

    Waratahs 2021

We actually aren’t disagreeing all that much. The lack of crowds at a Wallabies match is for the same reason. Back to the Waratahs/NSWRU, we can all agree that this has to be pretty close to rock bottom and the time for change is right now.

    Waratahs 2021

That isn’t right. We all agree with the board room issues, but 6 years ago the Waratahs were able to sell out the biggest stadium in Australia. The problem isn’t that they aren’t selling SUVs, it’s that they are delivering an inferior version of it.

Super Rugby AU 2021 Team of the Week

Unless everyone agrees with me it's academic anyway. It was a weird week all around, there were only a few obvious standouts as far as I could see. I'd say you and BR would balance it out pretty well. I did put in a disclaimer and a few selections were for players actually having a go rather...

Super Rugby AU 2021 Team of the Week

Not really, it largely reflects the Brumbies ;) EDIT: In haste I forgot that Powell is now with the Rebels. You aren't really far off what everyone else is thinking anyway, 14 was a bit of lottery, I think everyone just pick their home representative this week!

Super Rugby AU 2021 Team of the Week

Both games could have gone either way. The Tahs were on top for 75% of the game, it was just a 20 minute period where they kept dropping the ball that cost them the game, and although the Brumbies won, frankly I don't think they played very well. This is about individual performances so yes...

Super Rugby AU 2021 Team of the Week

Absolutely true, will amend. I'm going with Neville though

Super Rugby AU 2021 Team of the Week

At the risk of cries of 'too may Tahs' here is mine. If I don't pick some this week I might not get many more opportunities to! Realistically I struggled for a standout 4, 7, 9, 12, 13 and 14. I'd concede that Kahui was probably the best of the 12s but I'm only picking Wallaby eligibles, I was...

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

Good player but I think he’s in that ‘not big enough for lock, not dynamic enough for the back row’ bracket. Who would he kick out, is probably the question.

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

Anstee probably MOM but fuck Dempsey had a good game. Welcome back.

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

That period where the Tahs dropped every second ball was where it was lost. Or won. Depends who you’re on!

I would be too if it was against the Reds

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

I think twiggy might have slipped berry a couple of lobsters. The red card aside, all the calls are going to the force
