    Australia A matches Northern Tour

Interesting that Australia A are 7.5 with a 16.5 point head start. Haven't seen the England A line-up yet.

Wales v Australia, Monday 18 November 3:10am AEDT

Sadly EJ (Eddie Jones) picked him at #7 and he was horribly exposed against Wales. IMO he is a 2nd Row who can cover #6.

    Shute Shield 2025

Uni need it - last year's Colts good but not Grade Standard.

Wales v Australia, Monday 18 November 3:10am AEDT

Wales were just beaten by Fiji in Cardiff - I'd say that is pretty woeful. WBs are rightly favourites - I expect a 20+ point margin at the final whistle.

    Waratahs 2025

That'll drain their salary cap in one game!

    Waratahs 2025

    Hahaha - which team ;-)

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

"Yes, Lawrence came back and got him but once he was beaten initially..." Sleighthome made the tackle on Ikitau - Lawrence was beaten and Smith was caught in no man's land. Irrespective - Ikitau's break and slip pass was sublime, and a joy to see - that won the game for the WBs ultimately.

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

That last try, as noted above - doesn't matter how experienced you are, there's always a temptation to step in because you don't trust your inside man. M Smith found guilty, and Ikitau exploited with a sublime slip pass. Ikitau was actually tackled by his man, and Smith allowed the offload to...

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

Agreed - beat Wales and Scotland, and who knows vs Ireland the upward trajectory is there.

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

Agreed - they blew their chances, while ABs and WBs took theirs. #12 Ikitau man of the match, IMO.

    Wallabies 2024

That win helps the upward trajectory!

    Queensland Reds 2025

"The demise of the Rebels is an utter fuck-up." Which is why we need more teams not fewer teams for our players to develop and show their talent.
  13. S

    Wallabies 2024

WBs can only play with what is available on the truck now, which is relatively low in talent from years of Pathways mismanagement (and Super Rugby perhaps). Likely multiple years of 7-10 table position sadly - need to beat one/all of the top three to make major table advances.

All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

"Paying $3 to win as well, the disrespect." And paying $4.5 to win at HT and FT, and giving the ABs 7.5 pts head start (with 2.5 pts HT)....sometimes the bookies AI just gets it wrong.

    Australia A matches Northern Tour

With a try in the 80th minute to draw the game.

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

Punters not impressed - Australia odds have blown out. 12.5 points head start and 6.5 for the win.

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

"One stays out on his opposite number (rugby) while the other (league) comes off their wing probably more than not." Yes - a big difference plus the defensive kicking required in Rugby. Schoolboys in Rugby often get the defensive structure wrong as they step in - not trusting their centre to...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Certainly a lot of money that could have been channelled into pathways - that said, I do look forward to seeing him playing Rugby.

    Shute Shield 2025

"The downside would be the administrative complexity." Yes - easy to see the potential benefits (keeping Australian U23s in the system, and rewarding own Junior Development), but probably too much administration.

    Shute Shield 2025

"You could throw in a further discount for payments to players that are your own juniors." I like this a lot (50% discount for Australian U23s?) - real incentive to include Colts in Grade. If the points system is kept, then U23s could gain a discount, while own Juniors could be zero points?
