    Australian Rugby / RA

Wow - difficult to know what is / is not the truth. But the consistent projection the deal was part funded by private money helped calm some soothsayers - if the deal really is all RA funded now, leaves a big hole in the RA pocket.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Who is the Aus U20s Coach now?

    Shute Shield 2025

Do Super Rugby players, that end up playing for their Clubs rather than Super Rugby [as they don't make the 23] get paid by the Shute Clubs also?

    Shute Shield 2025

Is there not quite a low salary cap (250k)? How can $$ be thrown around? Not challenging what you say - just interested how semi-pro in Shute Shield works.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Dillon def pulling the strings - Wilcox also good but a little greedy not making simple passes to support runners, and the odd poor kick - nothing that can't be fixed with coaching. Reds #6 (now playing #8) very good. Cracking advert for fluid rugby - and a well deserved win for ACT.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Seven NSW players in the ACT Run-On - good to see player movement is alive and well, even at this young age group.

    Waratahs 2025

Yes - could play left and right like they do in France - might be irrelevant now, if he not joining though.

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

I tend to agree - IMO applies to Super Rugby level also. He is a great tackler, but misses the linking and pilfering skills of the aforementioned. He is more a 6.5 IMO.

    Waratahs 2025

That's an upgrade at #7 IMO.

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

This looks to be a consistent NSW U19s strategy - prevalent last year when beaten by ACT U19s twice, with NSW choosing an inferior run-on BackRow - sometimes best to be completely discarded so you can play for another State, rather than 'blocked'.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Without overdo (constructive) criticism - as I have said in a previous post that a bespoke jackler is a real luxury that many teams can't afford to carry. Durbridge is that luxury - but with the downside of playing with a 7 man pack. NSW U19s suffered similar last year playing their #7 as an...

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Potentially huge - as you get the boys playing against each other in Colts which is U20s, and some rise to the top, while others fade away due to U18s size, and new faces appear that are later developers.

    Northern Hemisphere/6N Rugby

Some cracking Gallagher Premiership Matches y/s - Bristol / Saracens and Bath / Harlequins both ended 2 point games, with the former in the 30s scoreline.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

I tend to agree - I think no shock that ACT beat NSW (ACT beat NSW U19s twice last year) - my surprise is the margin of victory. I like NSW #15 Harvey a lot going forward - but defence exposed somewhat today. Don't need to kneejerk and drop him, just an area to work on. NSW may not make the...

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Agreed - the opportunity to display ones skills is the key - add some extra spice of course vs the team that didn't want you, never hurts though ;-) .

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Agreed - good competition between him and Harvey going forward at #15.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Very disappointed for NSW - sadly also happened last year for U19s where some better players weren't included. It is great though for the system overall, that ACT managed to scoop him up and provide a platform for his skills.

    Northern Hemisphere/6N Rugby

Very simple - if the Super Rugby players moved to Club Rugby it would be identical. And btw Club Academies in England are brutal - no cronyism - meritocracy; if you don't meet your KPIs you are out and replaced - Super Rugby Academies (NSW) choose players based on Gen Blue but never jettison the poor ones. At...

    Northern Hemisphere/6N Rugby

Yes - quite small and 2/3s full average is impressive - but once again, this is Club Rugby and there is tribalism (that word again) in the support. They have Pros, Journeymen, U20s Players, and workhorses (who'll never player international) all mixed up in that league playing against each other...

    Northern Hemisphere/6N Rugby

Interesting - Exeter doing well, considering the small ground the have.
