Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Usually they are from where the ball was caught. I wasn't watching him in particular, but it seemed to me that Palu always made the gain line. I'm not saying he was better than Mowen -- who I thought had a cracking game -- but he was pretty good. I didn't rate Simmons last night. I know he...

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

    1. Get all the money. 2. Put money in truck. Check money fills truck. If not, get more money. 3. Drive truck to Israel Folau's house.

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

Deans will not move JOC (James O'Connor). He declared him to be the flyhalf and definitively so. He won't go back on that after one match. Especially one for which excuses are readily available. I think that, in Deans' mind, his selections need to plug holes, not reinvent the wheel.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

From rugbystats.com.au: Ben Mowen: 80 mins, 8 tackles, 6 runs (28m), 6 ruck/maul, 1 t/over, 4 missed tackles. Wycliff Palu: 80 mins, 8 tackles, 7 runs (29m), 7 ruck/maul, 3 missed tackles. So what, exactly, are these question marks? No, stats don't tell the full story but it's pretty clear...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

This "left 14 points on the park" is a good talking point, but is obviously flawed logically. If JOC (James O'Connor) makes the first PK, he probably doesn't get a shot at the second, since the Lions would have restarted from halfway instead of the 22. And so on for the other missed penalties. Right up until...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

It's hard to change the team much when you win - even a lucky win like last night.

G&GR Man of the Match - Lions 1st Test

    3. Folau 2. Genia 1. Robinson

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

A lot more exciting, attacking rugby than expected. At least for the first test. Genia and Folau brilliant, the rest of the backs anonymous. Fat Cat, Mowen, Horwill have stood out for me in the forwards. Caaaaaaaarn the Wallabies!

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Guys, the "gee I'm glad Barnes got hurt" stuff is fucking distasteful.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Anyone still think Folau is a risky option? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

    Heinrich Brussow off to Japan

Brussouw is the only Saffer that actually makes me nervous at the breakdown. I'm stoked that he's off to Japan.

    Waratahs 2014

Our group has always called Kurtley "The Tesla!" because he's "ELECTRIFYING!"

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Not sure about the balance here. It really puts paid to the lock/6 cover rationale in the selection of Dennis, MMM and Kimlin. To my mind, it would have been better to just pick between Simmons and Douglas and then use the combo forward off the bench.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

You'd think that it's a contest between him and MMM. Ironically, playing on Tuesday might incline Deans towards putting MMM on the bench. But you'd think a match-fit, battle-hardened, lion-taming ginger ninja is exactly what the Wallabies need.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

It's an outrage! Just imagine how much he must hate Queensland to risk the biggest series in twelve years and probably his last chance to stay on as coach of Australia -- and at Suncorp, no less! Did Deans find his shower infested with cane toads one time? Did Quade put flour in his petrol tank...

    Waratahs v. B&I Lions - Saturday 15 June 2013

Yeah, it's exactly like that. o_O

    Waratahs v. B&I Lions - Saturday 15 June 2013

That's because he left everything he has on the field. Exactly the kind of guy you want in the team.

God no. Mowen at 8. He's very good there for the Brumbies.

Brumbies v British & Irish Lions Tuesday 18 June 2013

Haven't seen the game yet. Can't wait to watch it. Congrats to the Brumbies and all their fans. I don't care if it was a Lions "B team" or a "C team". They're supposed to be the best of 4 nations. History was made tonight.
