Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Especially when they move starts so far back from the line that the Lions have time to discuss the finer points of its choreography. One move in the second half so Izzy get smashed in exactly that way. You could see the hit coming two passes before he got the ball.

I'd start Smith too, but I don't know that it's as simple as you make out. What if he's not match fit? What if he can't play more than 50 mins? He is coming back from a knee injury. I'd start Smith and have Hooper on the bench.

Fantastic post, Bullrush. There were numerous points during the game where I thought the Wallabies were going to let it get away from them, but they always found a way to regroup and shift the momentum. They looked a lot more like scoring tries than the Lions did, and even if the other guys were...

Tonight we saw the huge difference an accurate kicker makes. Lilo's first few kicks were difficult and he nailed them perfectly. If there were ever any doubts that we must pick a goal kicker above anything else, tonight should have laid those to rest. As for the next test, I don't think we'll...

Also, the Wallabies starting front row was excellent while they were on. The scrum seemed a lottery at times but they managed very well and were frequently dominant.

The Lions were the more consistent team tonight, but the Wallabies looked the more dangerous. A lot of breaks and half-breaks that never quite got there. If they can put together some longer passages of play in Sydney they'll be a real chance. Some good stuff from Genia and Folau in the backs...

Australia lost the ball with 4 seconds left. Halfpenny with a penalty shot from 50m.

Yeah! Especially after the JOC (James O'Connor) try assist to AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)!

Things are looking bleak for the Wallabies, IMO. Need to really execute from here out to take this one.

Joubert has been calling advantage off after knock-ons very, very quickly. Often before any play has developed whatsoever, or before the team has made the gain line.
