Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

I think the Wallabies need to think about bringing Gill on. We're getting beaten at the breakdown far too frequently.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Not sure why the Lions got to keep the ball out of that scrum.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Nothing wrong with that call. Mowen didn't release.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

12-9 Lions. Wallabies need to get much cleaner ball. The Lions are up fast in the defense, but we're not taking advantage by hitting the rucks hard. Lions seem much more up for the warfare at the moment, hitting tackles with real force.

    Thank God for Lelo's boot.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

And Joubert is missing Vunipola's boring in. Which puts him in good company with everything other ref on this tour.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Lions scrum back on top. Quite thoroughly.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

    Another great scrum!

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Kicking from Australia has been really good (apart from Kurtley's cross field one).
  10. Richo

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

The Lions scrum is not looking good.
  11. Richo

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Not a good start from the Wallabies. Massive problems with the driving maul. Don't look good at the breakdown.

Hopefully not with his feet. I am NERVOUS.

Sir Clive's Views on Wallaby Kicking

I'm not surprised by that at all, USAR. I suspect that the disparity is even greater at test level.

    James Horwill cited for stamping

If Horwill is banned after an Aussie win, the Lions should shut the hell up, be glad that the IRB did their dirty work, and thank their stars they don't have to face Kev in the third test.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Georgina Robinson's article said that this is a first. They once (!) appealed the length of ban imposed but never a not guilty verdict.

    Waratahs 2014

That is great news. One of our most crucial players to re-sign.

And just when you thought it was impossible to make the SANZAR judiciary look sensible. . .

Sir Clive's Views on Wallaby Kicking

Robinson's article is largely ARU spin. She cherry picks the kicks that won matches but doesn't mention the numerous average displays over recent years. It'd be interesting to know what the actual percentages are for Wallabies kickers compared to those of other top tier nations.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Wallabies. Otherwise my train ride out to Homebush next weekend will really suck.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

I don't think there's much surprising about the side selected. I still don't like Simmons on the bench -- start him or don't have him. Kimlin or MMM gives a lot more flexibility, especially since Palu probably shouldn't play 80 if his work rate drops off. Otherwise, the forwards did very well...
