Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

I read that McRight would be back for Argentina but Wright was out for the RC.

This argument will be cleared up by late Saturday night. Just added bolded, this seems a bit contradictory.

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

33-0 with 5mins to go is not a reason to change things? SA are just guys like any other and if you can put them under pressure anything can happen. I am not sure that Schmidt has had enough time to make judgements about the players, having only watched Super Rugby which is nothing compared to...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

Agree re the gain line but I ain't talking about that key ingredient, I am talking about winning the breakdown on attack and slowing them on theirs. Tizzano did little in that area compared to McRight and even he would have struggled against a big SA backrow. I am thinking about trying to...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

Hard times call for hard decisions and a backrower playing 7 v 6 0r 8 is hardly equivalent to taking an average 10 with 20 W starts and hoping they improve over the last week.

I think you are right but I ain't happy. Hoping that we start with a front row that won't give away penalties, Nongorr, BPA, Bell

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

When our backrow was completely out muscled and outplayed regardless of the brain-dead media singing Tizzano's praises his effort was in defence and not in the ruck. We need to put out a team that can compete at the breakdown and not give away penalties at scrum time. Valetini looked very quiet...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

Please explain why a guy who is bigger and fast enough, against possibly the largest back row with a 5 who is also a backrower is an act of madness????????? Sometimes I wonder about you guys.

Before you start I know Swain is not in camp and therefore can't play...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

That is an act of madness and whoever is advising Schmidt about player potential has got this seriously wrong. Swain is a far better lock than Carter any day and Canham is talented but too light for this game. Nongorr should start with Bell and BPA, AAA to the bench. Swain and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) locks (not a...

Joe there is no TT his dad's funeral.

    Wallabies 2024

Are you suggesting that nobody would have known he couldn't take the weight or skills of the Boks? Surely his poor scrummaging would have shown up in training against others in the squad and TT was in the squad, fit but not playing. To have a guy like him embarrassed and potentially injured...

DC, any idea what is the current situation with BPA?

    Wallabies 2024

So we are going to put a guy who is not fit enough to deal with the opposition (proven on the day) and possibly repeat the injury, then make him captain. It makes no sense unless they are not testing them for strength and endurance for the task ahead. Maybe his poor performance could have been...

    Wallabies 2024

OK if you are correct then why the hell was he playing, let alone captain of the team? Surely they are testing their strength and endurance and by the loss of strength, your post suggests he should have failed. Especially when he was up against arguably the best scrummaging team in the world.

    Wallabies 2024

I suspect Laurie would have had a say in AAA as captain. We need serious improvement in our forward performance and was surprised about the 'motherhood' statements Laurie made last week regarding our forwards, I expected some realistic evaluations of where we need to improve.

    Wallabies 2024

Look at how big Kwacca Smith is now. We need to compete with some weight and mobility, I would go for Uru as he strikes me as more mobile than Hooper.

    Wallabies 2024

A year is enough to get over that injury, particularly as a pro athlete with specialist rehab and planning. I am also not of the opinion that he is a huge guy, I saw him close up in a pre-season match against the Tahs and was surprised at his lack of size for an international prop.
