Waratahs v Brumbies 28th June ANZ Stadium

Pffft, as if they go west of Anzac.

Waratahs v Brumbies 28th June ANZ Stadium

Actually, there is no evidence either way. That's what makes this argument so circular and pointless. The Tahs play at ANZ because a) it gives them fat stacks of cash, and b) playing west of Anzac Parade from time to time isn't such a bad idea. It's impact on crowd numbers isn't something we...

That'll happen when you switch schools every time you get busted for not handing in an assignment.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Yeesh, some raw treatment for McCalman. I'd say he's well ahead of Higgers right now, as evidenced by selections this series. He'll have more chances in the RC as well.

Skelton is also a massive unit. Very hard to get low and straight when you're that big.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

After watching the replay, I thought Hooper was good with Pollock on Saturday. He was clear and articulate in his questions, and seemed to have a good attitude in his dealings. Horwill is a good captain, but sometimes seems to struggle a bit in communicating his concerns -- maybe just finds it...

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

Having watched a replay last night, I thought there were some issues of interchange between 9 and 10 in particularly, and occasionally with 12 as well. Sometimes it seemed like White and Foley weren't in the same chapter, let alone on the same page. Foley rushed a few passes and missed everyone...

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

A digression, but McCaw has looked decidedly mortal this series. Even his cloak of invisibility has been slipping. He might well run into form over the next few weeks, but I like Hooper in that matchup more and more.

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

I would like to see a replay, since row D affords little view of the action, but I agree with the White-Foley scepticism to an extent. While both deserve their opportunity based on form, the pairing of on-song Cooper and Genia is an exciting prospect at the front of this back line. Foley, in...

Also, probably the most analytical writer on rugby in any of the mainstream papers. But hey, let's insult him because he said a player we like didn't play well.

    Waratahs 2015

Losing Crawford sucks, but Betham will be back and Cheika has proven he has an eye for talent. Now just sign Kellaway, Cheiks.

I know! $1 million is ridiculous. Surely we could get Palmer to sign for, like, $250k and a weekly meat tray. ;)

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

Yep, the line out is a bit more limited in options with Skelton and Palu both starting. But Skelton does make a good short throw target and Palu is not useless in the line out.

This has been Douglas's best season, no doubt about that. But I think it's no surprise he's heading overseas. I have no doubt that he (or his people) discussed the matter with the ARU and it became clear that he was lower down the pecking order. With Jones and Carter both younger, Simmons with...

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

I don't think Genia is done and dusted. His ceiling is significantly higher than any other 9 in Australia and there's no reason to think he won't get back there, especially since we've learned he's been playing injured. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) wasn't dropped -- he's starting on the wing and might well be starting...

Wallabies v France - June 14 Etihad Stadium

Those rankings are fine, but more an exercise in displaying perception than actually getting a good picture of how most players played. How To'omua is at 7 with a +200 differential is beyond me. He's been great his last few games, but was rather sub-par on Saturday. He should be at the bottom of...

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

I think so, yeah. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is a good defender, but Horne has some serious starch. To'omua is no slouch, but obviously not going to be playing on the outside.

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

Agreed. If we had bigger, fitter wingers, it would be a different conversation. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) does run better lines, but in a game like that Kuridrani made a big but unflashy difference. I'd prefer to see the same starting backs.
