Scotland v Wallabies at Murrayfield 12.40am Mon 25 Nov

Absofuckinglutely Right! Their control of the breakdown was total, either in very fast ball for them whilst slowing ours down, Then picking the right ones to attack and occasionally leave. The reports say that Townsend ID'd that we were poor in the breakdown and defence and they were good in...

Derpus, those chip kicks were killers and was our only defence against their rush defence but our pack were done like a dinner. Some good gainline wins but nothing came of them.

I think this argument is done and the law is clear enough considering it is rugby.

Agree that we have issues in scrum consistency, maul defence and attack and agree with most you write in this post. The things you highlight we have been good at sometimes and therefore we know we can do it we just have to become more consistent. Our defence has never been good and our...

I disagree, I thought our first 20 was more like the first 20 v AB's before we fell away. The advantage we had was the English were poor at the breakdown and we were aggressive and committed. In the Scotland game I expected the focus and attitude would change after halftime but they continued in...

This game showed up why we need to evolve to move further up the ladder. We have only 2 problems, one is our defensive patterns and the other is our breakdown work. In my opinion Schmidt appears supportive of the first and is working to improve the second. If Lord Bucket has a good structure...

They planned well for our demise.

TSR, When the pack is not supporting the runner at speed and give the Scots 1 or 2 seconds to get into the breakdown before we arrive then you are asking for trouble. We had 3-4 breakdowns where nobody thought to step into the halfback role and they counter rucked us a couple of times. The pack...

No Idea, but I know that I would have changed it up. They have been playing with Schmidt since day dot apart from Skelton who doesn't jump. Anyone with half a brain could remember the standard calls and understand who was to support who. I assume Wilson was the LO caller.

We had 3 jumpers in the lineout Wilson, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Valetini. The majority were thrown to Wilson and anyone could have told you where it was going mostly. It improved slightly when Frost came on but hardly a dominant display of lineout work.

Did notice a huge boot from Wilson to clear it.

I suspect Lolesio looks best on the training paddock and when the pack is going forward. When everything is average or worse he is a liability as last night proved. It was not him who lost the game for us that is down to the pack.

No! I've seen a lot worse, I suspect so have you if you were taking notice, some of the stuff Barrett has done would put him out to pasture in Aus.

But few here wanted Swain or Swinton to play for the Wallabies, a couple called for a permanent ban on them as too aggressive. Yet look at how NZ deal with Scott Barrett or SA with Etzebeth. They know that an overly aggressive youngster will grow into a controlled aggression player, we don't.

I thought that was exactly why we used him ie a dual fullback role. I have never heard this sbefore Strewth and if true seems a strange way to use an ex fullback.

How much experience does he need? He's been in the team for years,. He was just a part of the switch-off that happened to most of the guys out there. Too busy trying to deal with our lousy let-them-run defence. And stopped being 'in' the game and ended up watching it.

Agree with all of this BR. We were out of this game for the most part. I thought the game was lost after 15 mins and my thoughts never changed. Here we go again with Lolesio, as soon as the game gets tough he looks like a rabbit in the headlights, his eyes are darting around everywhere and it...

The poor speed of support of the tackled player was a major reason their breakdown work was superior to ours.

Why didn't we use Valetini more, he did a decent job last week. Skelton's work is worth having him there in every game I have watched him play. I guess Wilson was calling the lineout and it was so obvious he was going to get it. I thought the lineout went better without Wilson last week. Mind...
