Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 21st October, Suncorp, Brisbane

And the next No 10 in line is now Richie Mo'unga, who is even more the classical No 10 than any of the others in my view.

    The Wallabies Thread

I'd like to see Matt Philip get an opportunity. He has been in great form at both Super and NRC levels this year. And I won't even get upset if it turns out he is a Tah next season. FP re "I am sure Quade has been made well aware of what he has to work on". I am sure that is just standard...

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 21st October, Suncorp, Brisbane

All good then. Expect Rob Simmons to have a monster game.

    NRC onwards and upwards

BH, I think you're right about the non-Wallabies Tahs this year. However, I would disagree with you about Naiyaravoro and Mason being in good form in the NRC. Give the ball to Taquele at full pace up to 20m out and he'll most likely score, true, but his input to the remainder of the game is...

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

UTG, the U20s sides for NZ and Aus in 2011 were just about the best from both countries. The NZ side featured Cane, B Barratt, B Retallick, B Shield, Anscombe, Piutau among many other current super and test players, while the Aus side contained Hooper, Colby Faiianga (c), Siliva, Kingston...

    NRC onwards and upwards

Not a bad idea FP. In Canberra, a team could be based around Queanbeyan and double as the replacement for NSW Country, by including country born players from the SS.It would certainly build on the rivalry between the Queanbeyan Whites and the Vikings in the JID.

NRC Rnd 7: NSW Country Eagles v Perth Spirit

I'd be surprised if Brache made any of the remaining four Super Rugby franchises.

NRC Rnd 7: Greater Sydney Rams v Queensland Country

Two or three better refs in Aus than Gardner. He seems to always take a liking to one of the teams early and they get the bulk of calls for the first twenty or so minutes. Usually it's not possible for the other side to come back at that stage despite a more even set of rulings from then on.

    NRC onwards and upwards

I have facetiously posted on another thread, but I really agree with you. Having NRC teams with a good number of Super Rugby players, eg Vikings, Spirit, hasn't caused those sides to be lax in developing up and coming talent as well. In fact, I think the new players probably get a lot more out of playing...

The problem with the NRC and how to fix it

I thought all 59 teams in the Shute Shield were stronger than our Super teams TOCC.

NRC Rnd 7: Canberra Vikings v Sydney Rays

One more thing. Harry LLoyd needs recognition for his efforts at LHP with the Vikings this year. Has been powerful at scrum time and is very busy around the ground. Should be in the running for either Rookie of the year or a Super contract. Maybe both.

NRC Rnd 7: Canberra Vikings v Sydney Rays

Slim, a couple of small corrections. Wasn't a penalty try to Lonergan - simply a bat down backwards by the Rays' player and Lonergan pounced to score. Had it been a penalty try it would have been awarded under the sticks and no need for a conversion attempt. The last try was actually scored by...

I have a leaning towards Hodge at 13 also to back up TK, but I wouldn't be quite so harsh on Kerevi. Admittedly his defense is very questionable, maybe just in the Grey shambles, but he doesn't strike me as being selfish. Actually has quite a good off loading skill.

Pole: Should there be a level playing field for Australian Super Rugby teams?

FP, I can't agree with the contention that the defense has become solid as a result of Grey working things out. Any of the coaches might have had an influence but in my eyes Grey has not improved the defensive issues at all. Maybe the greater fitness of the players is helping to paper over the...

Pole: Should there be a level playing field for Australian Super Rugby teams?

And they won't win many games with the defensive record of the Tahs. 68 tries for 522 points scored against them, and unbelievably the Wallabies have the same defence coach. WTF.

Pole: Should there be a level playing field for Australian Super Rugby teams?

I agree that the sum of the Brumbies' parts is mach better than the individual parts, and I don't expect the Brumbies' players to dominate the Wallabies. OTH I also think it is unfathomable that the Tahs do dominate the Wobs. Apart from Folau and Hooper, who from the Taha would people include in...

Pole: Should there be a level playing field for Australian Super Rugby teams?

FP, your multiple posts have just confirmed my statement that the Brumbies are not now developing test standard players. Or is that what you were meaning to do?

Funny that. Elise seems to have spent more time back here in Aus playing cricket than she has in England.

    Barbarians Australian Tour 2017

Cheika on SBS news tonight said he would be putting out a strong team, maybe said a full strength side, not sure now. Said something like he wants to keep the momentum going.

    Rebels 2018

Unfortunately, Jones was widely criticised for two ball handling errors in his first Wallabies' appearance. The fact that he had a relatively good match for the remainder of the game was ignored mostly because of those errors. Errors which were probably very understandable nerves issues on...
