    Refereeing decisions

Dru, I didn't mention a square up at all, and certainly didn't expect anyone to read that into my post. My comment was to the effect that it is better for the ref to penalise an offence he sees in the initial scrum set (all scrums, not just the first) rather than reset it. As often as not...

    Wallabies EOYT 2017

That's all right TSR, but with the depth of talent that seems to be coming through lately, I want to see specialists competing for the spots, not just fitting in the excess player(s) from other positions because they are seen to be among the top echelon of players. Put simply, Hodge aside...

    Refereeing decisions

I did like at least on one occasion Barnes awarded a penalty on the very first set direction for a particular scrum, rather than reset and then, as often happens, the non-offending side at the first instance is then penalised for a similar offence.

    Big leg up for Tyrel.

    Barbarians Australian Tour 2017

I know the what that Cheika said, but just don't see the why. I think Strewth is probably on the money.

    Wallabies EOYT 2017

Hodge, Kuridrani and Koroibete really should now be locked in at 11, 13 and 14 respectively. Any fiddling with them must be avoided.

    Wallabies EOYT 2017

Agree Slim. What we should all accept is that we have three players trying to fit into two spots, Foley, Beale and Hunt as 10 and 12. Izzy missing allows one to fill in at 15, but when Izzy returns only two of the three should start and one on the bench.

    Barbarians Australian Tour 2017

I would also be flabbergated if Folau plays this game. Reportedly, he is not going on the EOYT - time to give his likely replacement at 15 (Hunt, Hodge? Hopefully not Beale) time in the spot to get familiar with how Cheika wants the position to be filled v the NH sides.

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 21st October, Suncorp, Brisbane

Coleman, no doubt, was just intrigued to watch how someone hitting a ruck could be so ineffectual. Was one of those rucks early in the game when he tried to get Cane (I think) off his feet and didn't make any impression on him at all? Turnover to the ABs.

    Barbarians Australian Tour 2017

Some strange selections again in the Wallabies A team. One game only v the Baa Baas. Why select three hookers and three No 9s? One of each won't get on the ground. Would be far bettger to allow the excess player turn out for the Baa Baas as they will be playing two games, and good game time...

NRC 2017 Fiji Drua v QLD Country

Timu was among the better performers.

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 21st October, Suncorp, Brisbane

One more thing I'll say about Foley. He will rarely if ever win us a game with his goal kicking (will get 6/6 easily after 6 tries have been scored), but he has often lost us a game through his goal kicking and nearly did again tonight. Wallabies have lost a few in the past couple of years where...

Hoping the Vikings can lock up the second place and wrap up a home semi. Looking possible that QldC might face Brisbane in the other semi.

NRC 2017 Fiji Drua v QLD Country

That's right Sully, and now favourite to retain top spot and to take out the main prize. But, just how many tries did the Drua leave out there through very poor handling.

Who votes for the Pileki medal? Whoever it is, maybe fans?, they seem to have a better appreciation for quality than our national coaches have.

NRC 2017 Fiji Drua v QLD Country

Very poor refereeing display so far. Should have had the video ref have a look at Timu's second try. Very suspect put down over the line. Qld Country getting away with some off side play (Hocking) and entering the ruck from the side (Scott-Young), while Drua No 7 seems to be penalised every time...

    Finals predictions

Sully, my understanding is that DP and Perese have been called into the squad either for training purposes or for the team to play the Baa Baas next week. Is this not the case? Vikings have also lost Arnold, Banks and Folau Faiinga but not quite so disruptive as they have the bye this weekend.
