    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

I hear what you say Barbarian, but why do those comments not apply equally to any or all of the other locks shown in the list? On the matter of team stats, do you have the comparative figures for each of the Aussie franchises to support the argument that the Tahs are clearly a standout?

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

For those who didn't see them, Mica posted the Foxsports stats/game for Locks on the front page a few days ago. Make for very interesting reading. Simmons : 3.7 runs; 14 run metres; 3.2 Lineouts won; 0.3 Lineouts pilfered; 0.2 tackle busts. Rodda: 6.6 runs; 29 rm; 3.2 Lo won; 0.3 Lo...

I was quite aware that you were fishing Cyclo, but the issue regarding Simmons is becoming (no, has been) serious and needs to be called out at every opportunity.

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

Too true Derpus. It is a rare thing these days to see any of the NZ sides take a set line out when the ball goes into touch. They invariably take a quick throw in and rely on their attacking skills when defenses aren't set. Makes sense? I think it does. By way of contrast, how many times do we...

And Holloway would at least provide one adequate lock to the team. Anyone thinking Rob Simmons is going ok should check out the statistics, both attacking and defensive, of all the locks under consideration for the Wallabies. They indicate he is the least effective of all locks taken over all...

Australia v Ireland, Sat 9th June @ 8.00pm, Suncorp Brisbane

I think Cheika will pick: Sio, BPA, Kepu Coleman, Simmons Pocock, Hooper, Timu Genia, Foley, DHP, Beale, Kuridrani, Koriobete Folau I would go with : Sio, Latu, Ala'alatoa Coleman, Rodda Samu, Pocock, Timu Genia, Foley, Maddox, Kerevi, DHP, Koriobete, Folau. I'd have a bench of...

Australia v Ireland, Sat 9th June @ 8.00pm, Suncorp Brisbane

Robertson, Hooker (Latu hasn't started enough to judge), Kepu has been dominated by just about every side they've faced in Super. Sio, Fainga'a, Ala'alatoa has won the battle in every game that Fainga'a has started. The answer is obvious.

    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

One on one he was very good. That tackle on the tryline was a beauty. It is the lack of cohesion and formation in the backline defensive line that worries me about Kerevi at 13. I still think 12 is his best spot, and I'd like to see him partner DHP in the centres.

After a few rather disappointing outings lately, McCaffery had a very strong game v the Sunwolves. If another backrower is needed, say if Hanigan doesn't prove his fitness, then McCaffery would probably be under consideration. He plays with a certain amount of flair and creativity for a backrower.

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Certainly, not the Wallabies at fault, but I am sure RA could have had some influence had they been awake to the issue from early on. I don't think SANZAAR act from their own sense of propriety or fair play when they schedule a bye week for the SA conference a week before the test window.

Well Scoey, we all know who will be at 12. The 13, whoever it is, will be competing with the winger for space on the ground.

Also worth noting how good Timu was when he came on. Buulocking runs, good off loads and scored a try through quite a bit of defense. Should be in the starting side next week.

I get my kicks from rugby Dru. SM doesn't do anything for me. I'll just have to decline.:)

If, as is likely, Uelese is out, then I'd favour Latu to come in. The other two Hookers are very inexperienced and Latu at least has a couple of years in Super rugby behind him as well as a few recent games to get him fit. My choice to replace Samu would be Cottrell for his aggressiveness...

    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

Last year's U20s and all of his games this year. I could be wrong, but I certainly thought Stewart had started one or two other games for the Reds lately, at 15? If I'm right, then Dru must be wrong with his comment that it was Stewarts first starting game. I like his defensive abilities, but...

You were definitely in the minority then Dru. I hope you're right about Stewart but I have to say that I don't like what I've seen to date.

    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

This turned out to be a most enjoyable game to watch. Tahs and Rebels now consolidated as the top Aussie sides. Would like to see one go the whole way, and imo it's not impossible. The NZ hoodoo is waning fast. The Reds have the making of a top notch side in a year or so. Some of the most...

    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

Before he moved up to Super level, McIntyre was being hailed as the next big thing by many of the Reds supporters. The same is now being said about Stewart. I am sceptical about Stewart reaching Super level. On the other hand, on tonight's performance I think Sorovi has the world at his feet...

Definitely forward Dru, and picked it up in real time. Didn't need any slomo to see that.

Or, on tonight's showing, Holloway. Jed was best lock on the ground. Tahs have found the missing piece in their puzzle.
