    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

Sorovi looks like he could be something special. Stewart is well out of his depth.

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

The interesting but unknown aspect of the Brumbies playing their three stars is the likelihood of Cheika omitting Allan Ala'alatoa from the first test altogether, starting Kepu and having Tupou on the bench. If he were to do that but still play Sio and Pocock who are in the same boat as Allan...

Rd 16 - Brumbies vs Sunwolves, GIO Stadium 3 June 2018 4:05pm AEST

I had the same thought M, on the Brumbies thread.

Hope it's not horse meat in those sausage rolls Matt.

    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

It is an unfortunate fact that that's exactly what would be needed to remove KB (Kurtley Beale) from the starting lineup.

    U20s WC

Maybe Reg, but I've seen him in two or three games now at U20s level and he has been quite unimpressive. I think he goes himself too much and more often than not dies with the ball. He isn't a top quality 10 or 12 yet in my eyes.

And is first choice goal kicker, but that's about it as far as I've seen.

As Bernie said to Quade, HTFU.

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

It's really not a way around the eligibility rules, just a way to skirt the ARU's own selection criteria. I don't have an issue with the ARU having to take out insurance for Samu while he plays here, to cover possible injury and maybe even to compensate Tasman/Crusaders for Samu missing games...

I guess he'd be hopping around somewhere in the grass.

Thought you might have been reading Cheika's tea leaves again.

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

You keep saying that BH, but it is just your opinion. In my opinion he's shown nothing above and beyond the level of his performances last year, and yes, I have watched all of the Tahs' games this year.I accept that his workrate is high and he tries, but what's the advantage of a player whose...

    U20s WC

Gave it away at half time. Very poor attack by the Aus U20s. Also thought McReight (spelling?) was pinged incorrectly by the ref for not releasing a couple of times when he wasn't the tackler.

Thay are not bad, they are inconsistent. It is very feasible that they could put the Brumbies away if they (the Brumbies) are not at full strength.

Reds and Tahs play Saturday night, right? They will be available to join the squad on Sunday. Brumbies play Sunday arvo. In time to get a flight to Brisbane on Sunday evening. How much will they really miss out on by missing Sunday? Anyway, I think the Reds and Tahs will bash each other to the...

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Have it in mind that Jordie played 12 in the U20s. Correct? Would be mouth watering to see the two Barretts at 10 and 12 - has it happened at all at the Canes?

I would also rate Gordon among the top three No 9s atm, but with Genia and Powell. Phipps has been out of form this year, when available, and is the most susceptible of all half backs to making howlers during a game. His speed to the breakdown has deteriorated (see the try scored by the...

It's not the conspiracy that concerns me Pfitzy, it's the sieve that that backline would offer to the opponent's attack.

That's a pretty weak reason BH. If the short turnaround is so important, the Aus conference should mirror the SA side and start a week early so there is a full two weeks gap between Super Rugby and the tests to prepare.

Yeah, I'd expect so. Even so, I think it's a bit rich to ask one franchise to rest players. Were others asked but just hasn't been publicised? If Sio and AAT were to be rested, I think Mayhew and Makin would start and be backed up by Sione and Alexander. Not bad replacements, but Sio and AAT...
