    The Wallabies Thread

When he hits, which has been more miss than hit this year. He should have to show he is defensively capable, both in individual tackling and perhaps more importantly in positioning, before getting another call up to the Wallabies.

Is it possible for a capped player to lose eligibility? I wouldn't have thought so.

    Shute Shield 2018

Taking the quick tap should nullify the 10m off side law. In fact, I was under the impression that the off side line came down to 5m when a quick tap penalty was taken, but that doesn't seem to be the current situation.

R15 Brumbies vs Bulls - Downtown Pretoria, Sat 26 May 11pm AEST

Maybe right Bobas, but when did two wrongs make a right? As far as obstructing the chaser is concerned, the most blatant but missed incident was earlier in the game by Isi Naisarai. As I said, some 50/50s went both ways.

    Round 15 - Chiefs vs Waratahs @ The Tron - Saturday 5:35pm

Yep, FP, I think the effort this year is way above last year's level. Mostly, the same players, but looking a whole lot better than they did in 2017.

    Brumbies 2018

Despite the apparent riches the Brumbies had this year in backrowers, Blake Enever has had to fill in some of the time because of the dire injury situation. Can't tell from one year to the next where those injury problems might be experienced, but Samu coming in with Fakosolea leaving looks a...

R15 Brumbies vs Bulls - Downtown Pretoria, Sat 26 May 11pm AEST

How about the box kick late in the game (by Powell I think) for Speight to chase. Henry challenged for the ball but didn't have his eyes on it. Both Henry and the Bulls player missed the catch and the ball came off Henry's foot into touch. Brumbies awarded the throw in at the lineout. 50/50...

    Reds v Highlanders

Rodda is clearly one of the top three locks in the country. He was very involved and impressive in the game v the Highlanders (as well as all year long, actually). When Rory Arnold comes out of suspension, those two with Adam Coleman should be the locks for the Wallabies season v the Irish...

    The Wallabies Thread

He had quite a good game v the Chiefs, being effective in his ball carries. The Tahs' scrum is weak, but from my viewing the TH side was where the trouble is. I think there is definitely a discernible improvement in Robertson's game lately.

Don't know how the upright situation will be adjudicated for larger, taller players, like locks. Those who generally have to bend the knees and bend at the waist just to lay hands on the top parts of a smaller player's body. Could be a get out of jail clause?

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

Might be the model for RA. One Aussie side in the NZ comp when all other Aussie teams join WA?

R15 Brumbies vs Bulls - Downtown Pretoria, Sat 26 May 11pm AEST

Tomikin, you and I have different opinions on Marius van der Westhuizen. I reckon he is clearly the best referee in Super Rugby, and he had an excellent game last night. I have consistently held that belief now for at least 2 or 3 years. There were some 50/50 calls as always, but no real howlers...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Just the biggest. Not enough coin left to stump up for a similar future situation.

    Round 15 - Chiefs vs Waratahs @ The Tron - Saturday 5:35pm

Just not right Derpus. They manage to bring SA refs over for most, if not all, the Aus v NZ games, but I can't remember the last time there was a neutral ref for NZ games against Aus in NZ. And it's not a matter of having the best refs. All NZ refs are on par with the worst of the Aus and SA refs.

    Round 15 - Chiefs vs Waratahs @ The Tron - Saturday 5:35pm

Can't be too hard, can it? Rasta was over here for tonight's game. Wouldn't be hard to schedule him for the NZ game and for Jacko to have the Reds/Highlanders. Surprisingly, had that happened, the Reds would have ended up with the better referee. Rasta is very poor at 7s and really doesn't have...

    Reds v Highlanders

Didn't take account of Sorevi's piss poor kicking late in the game Dru. As good as kicked the win away by not keeping ball in hand.
  17. Brumby Runner

    Reds v Highlanders

From my viewing, all the lineout losses were from bad throws rather than poor jumping.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Just postulating, but if one of the Aus Super franchises wanted, say at the end of 2018, to walk away from RA and tie up with the IPRC, would they be able to do so? And if so, where would that leave RA with their contract with SANZAAR or Foxtel to field 4 teams in Super Rugby from this country?

    Round 15 - Chiefs vs Waratahs @ The Tron - Saturday 5:35pm

Stolen? That was one hell of a miss by Foketai to let DMac in for the easiest of tries. Tahs coaching staff have similar problems to the Brumbies' in messing around with their replacements.

    Round 15 - Chiefs vs Waratahs @ The Tron - Saturday 5:35pm

Gordon was very unimpressive when he came on as well. I forgot to add in respect of Phipps, who has a reputation for being the fastest No 9 to the ruck, he was sorely missing when the Chiefs picked the ball up at the back of the Tahs ruck and strolled over for a try.
