NZ rugby being magnanimous again WOB? But I do thank you/them for releasing Pete Samu to the Wallabies.

Wallabies v Ireland, Saturday 16th June, 8.00pm, AAMI Park, Melbourne

But Robertson had been putting in very good shifts for the Tahs over the weeks leading to the test break. His form last weekend shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone watching him closely lately. OTH, contrary to many others here, I don't think Hanigan has shown any improvement at all over 2017.

Which is precisely why we should avoid playing Ned Hanigan in the back row (hasn't put in a physically dominant showing in defense or with ball in hand at either test or Super Rugby level) and why Rodda and Arnold should be first choice partners to Coleman in the second row.

Scruff of the neck stuff should only be tried when you're in front on the scoreboard Barb. It was a no-brainer to go for the points and ultimately the right decision, however it was made.

Steadied the lineout? By my count there were only three lineouts after he came on, two with a Wallaby throw-in and one for the Irish. The first of the Wallaby throw-ins came at 63.35 and Simmons lifted Pocock to effect a clean win. The Irish lineout occurred at 75.12 and resulted in an Irish...

I agree FP; develop another Nic White to gain upwards of 40m from the base of the ruck. Another innovation I'd like to see is more use of a long territory finding kick when awarded a short arm in or near our own 22m line. The whole side should be onside and can put in a fast, co-ordinated chase...

I like that squad AD. Exceptions are that I would have Gordon or maybe Sorovi in place of Phipps, and I'd include Banks somewhere.

    June Internationals not involving Australia

Not the first time in recent matches Crotty has carried on like a pork chop, either. He is fast becoming like Sanchez with his hollywood performances.

BH, I see Ned as being very similar to both of Dean Mumm and Rob Simmons. All with particular skills but not sufficiently well rounded to be able to dominate at test level. Like the others, Ned will no doubt get more test time, but I don't think he will ever be more than a fill in. Sadly, Mumm...

It's either a feast or a famine, Lindommer, not just year to year but across positions. We presently have a famine in the No 10 spot and that looks like continuing in to the RWC. The backrow has been in famine for some time, but now has the appearance of being a feast for the selectors come RWC...

Good to see his omission was only a blooper BH. I think there is a real difference between Samu and Hanigan/Timu that could well see him (Samu) cement that third backrow spot at least for the remainder of this year. He looks to carry harder, can pilfer and isn't wanting in defense or workload...

And Samu. Has he been forgotten already, or just out of favour as he'll be a Brumby next year?

During the match, Foxtel posted comparative stats for Pocock and the Irish No 7. Pocock led in all aspects iirc but certainly in turnovers won. It was interesting that they chose Pocock and not Hooper to compare against the Irish No 7.

Similarly, Lindommer, I am not advocating either of AAT or Arnold because they are Brumbies, they are Wallabies at this time of year just like any of the Tahs. I ask the question because AAT was first choice bench LHP for the first test, and Arnold consistently was in the best three locks...

Lindommer, I note your preference to retain the same 23, but where would you place Allan Ala'alatoa if he is fit? He was in the original 23 and only replaced late by TR after injuring his ankle. Should Cheika revert to his favoured 23 or did Tom do enough (and he was very good) to be retained...

    Rebels 2018

Well, GMR, I don't think he's had any less time at 10 than McGregor has had this year. If one had to go, I think from a Rebels' pov the right result is achieved.

I am more inclined to accept Gnostic's eyewitness account above of the impact of our LH side in that scrum. I agree that the TH side stood firm, but it was our LH side that gained dominance (over the World's best No 3, allegedly). Just from my viewing generally, I think I'd prefer a...

Happened to be the lineout where Hooper was the jumper/receiver. His pass off the top was a little ill-directed and much too hard. Not Genia's fault but Will probably should have just taken the tackle given the poor delivery to him.
