    Waratahs 2016

I can assure you that we do. It's what effectively ended my playing time. After a 6 year break I started playing again. Only got two games before I tore my hammy its entire length at training. Running passing drills. It's a fundamental weakness now to go with my right ankle.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Thus demonstrates the potential of Sydney's West.

    Shute Shield 2016

There was no flow to the game. Easts while young have a number of players who have hooves for hands. Eastwood aren't the team they have been in the recent past. At least not yet. The Easts 9 really killed any chance of momentum on a number of occasions. It was just ugly. The scoreline disguises...

    Shute Shield 2016

Bloody awful game of the round on 7Two. Scrappy, disjointed. Just poor.

ARU take over the Western Force.

I have little doubt that it would draw greater ratings and interest. My only issue is that while I'd very much like to see that I don't want it to be an the expense of the Force. If the Force were to be relocated where would that leave Rugby in WA? A token NRC squad seems a poor consolation...

ARU take over the Western Force.

Kyle Godwin, the Haylett-Petty brothers, Kieran Longbottom, Justin Turner, Ollie Hoskins, Kane Koteka, Brad Lacey and a few others are all locals and have been produced thanks to the Force being in place. To say the Force haven't produced any talent is just plain false.

    USA launches professional rugby competition

Yeah, USD. And yes, if this league tales hold it will likely see growth in terms of what it can offer players in terme of salary. The first season is essentially a soft opening for the league with season 2 being its big debut so to speak.

    USA launches professional rugby competition

There is a three tiered contract system. T1 is for capped Eagles (current) and internationals. It ranges between $35-40,000 a season. T2 are for capped Eagles (non-current) and uncapped internationals as well as the top local prospects. This range is between $25-35,000 a season. T3 is Goethe...

ARU take over the Western Force.

So, what should we do? Go back to the three team model. The ACT doesn't really produce too many players. Perhaps we should also cut the Brumbies? How many of their roster are locally developed? Not transplanted but started playing and rose through the ranks? Would it be more than seven, as...

    Shute Shield 2016

Could have sworn they were playing Eastwood.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

They signed an initial 10 about 9 months before the RWC and the other 7 directly after. Have another 10 on 'performance' contracts. Regarding Brazil. You'd be surprised just how robust their system has become. Most states now have Academy set ups in place and those that don't will in the...

    Western Force - 2016

The Force didn't realy play the game that would suit his style best. I think he'd fit the ball in hand style they're chasing.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Uruguay have professionalised 17 players with a number now semi-pro. Would not shock me to see Brazil do something very similar soon. As a union the CBRU has seen and should continue to see significant growth both in the game but the finances behind it.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

That's quite a step. Be interesting to see if this leads to a Super Rugby bid in the near future. Contracting 40 players as full time professionals is a big step. With a six team Premiership league it will have a significant impact on its standards.

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

I remember back before the NRC cmae to be someone mentioned a facility in Gungahlin.

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

The NSWRU really isn't equipped to run these teams. Well, at least not at present. The Waratahs are the ones that need to pull their heads out of their arses and get involved. Hell, even if its woth only one damn team.

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

Absolutely. We now have the possibility of Southern Districts jumping ship from the Rams to the Nth Syd Rays. Honestly Qld have got it right with the Union controlling the NRC squads.

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

I guess the theory is provide a 'united' team and they'll draw more people to games who would not have come because of the Vikings involvement. Personaly I see it as specious reasoning. Insular and pandering.
