For anyone interested Bar TV will be live streaming the Tahs/Rebels U20s game from 1:25pm tomorrow. Just go to their YouTube channel.

    Australian Rugby / RA

You've pretty much summed up my position. I think people need to realise is that $50m a year is not a lot of money when competing in our marketplace. While it's a significnat boost it's not enough to assume the good times are back. They're not. Both the ARU and we as the Rugby community need to...

    Rugby 7s general chat

It's going to be a huge challenge for him. There's been talk of this being a possibility for some time but its taken longer than either party would likely have wanted to eventuate. I doubt we'll see until at least Singapore but probably London and Paris. Fortunately for him he has the resources...

    Rugby 7s general chat

He's played a bit of 7s. Quite physical. Good skills. Quick. I think it's about getting back into the Rugby state of mind for time. That and busting his gut to get up to the fitness reqs.

I would have thought 'opprtunity' would hold a good deal of implied access to professionalism for most. As for the Uni's comment. It was more of a throw away than anything else. Again implying that perhaps the best way to develop talent is via HP centres based in and around Uni's particularly...

I specifically mentioned opportunity. I really don't understand why you thought you needed to make that point. Nor did I advocate the idea that it should be removed. A Universities concept isn't about elevating the Universities you've mentioned from their current positions. More setting up...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Good to see one of the regional centres doing well.

Uni takes advantage of a number of natural advantages it recieves by proxy of being part of a University. But I tend to agree that players are drawn to Uni not for the prospect of financial gain but the opportunity to train and develop among high quality coaching a facilities. I guess that's...

I'd rather give the Melbourne and Perth clubs $100k a year so they can develop their own structures and numbers in order to create 4-5 prominent club structures that can regularly produce talent.

    HSBC 7's ROUND 6 - VANCOUVER

Funny. SBW has been quite vocal about how hard he found his initial training and experiences in 7s. Even said he had to get a lot fitter.

Well, actually I remember reading that the Aus/NZ games were the ones that rated in the UK.

    Waratahs 2016

I really cannot fault him for taking the money on offer when its reportedly that good. He like every other professional sportsmen only has a limited shelf life in the game and he'll spend the majority of his overall life not playing Rugby. So he has to make the most of it both on and off the...

Funds raised by the xlub for their own uses are a different story. They don't need to be answerable on those. I am referring to any funding provided by the ARU via the state body.

I said previously that if the clubs were to present a comprehensive and measurable development plan focused primarily around kids then I'd be open to them receiving funding. However, I actually think that if they were provided those funds they and every club at every level for that matter need...

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

You have no idea how many times I've had the exact same discussion with my Soccer mad uncle at family events about the quality of the A League and why it struggles to gain interest.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

The ARU stated that they wanted every Super Rugby game featuribg an Aus team to rates over 100k by 2020. While I admit that wasn't a bad effort considering the dross on display if we keep serving that tripe up we'll never see those figures. Also, once again Super Rugby outrates the A League.

    Brumbies vs Waratahs - Round 2, 2016

Nearly every hit was passive with the Brumbies getting the ascendency. It was going to be a tough night at the office already without giving the Brumbies the momentum in the hit. Seriously, tell Tilse to go walk. Bring in Cameron Orr as he couldn't be any worse. Ta'avo is rubbish. Just dire.
