    Rumours...

Rugby related of course. Recently on my scouring over different Rugby foru,s etc. I've come across tow interesting little pieces of speculation. One being moves to establish a secondary 7s series and the other supposed discussions on setting a franchise based league centred around the top 6 REC...

    Rio Olympics

Jason Day has also pulled out citing Zika virus concerns. So now we've seen a swathe of Golfers and Tennis players pull out.

    Rio Olympics

Yeah but they've had to work within the confines of the IOC conditions which called for only 12 teams in both the mens and womens tournaments. Hopefully, the 7s proves hugely successfulvand popular and thus drives the IOC to move it to the standard 16 team format as seen on the World Series.

    NRC 2016 Coverage

In regards to coverage. I'll tentatively put my hand up for Rams home games.

Western Sydney Rams . NRC Official Team Thread

Well, they seem to be playing all their home games at Concord Oval. Is that close enough for you?

Qld Country - official NRC thread

Is Mason really that much of a better prospect? He didn't exactly wow me in his performance at the JWC.

Qld Country - official NRC thread

    What's happened to Sam Greene?

Western Sydney Rams . NRC Official Team Thread

Looks like we need a name change to the thread title according to the draw. No longer the Greater Sydney Rams. Now the Western Sydney Rams. A better fit if you ask me. West is best.

    NRC 2016 Coverage

Draws has been announced.http://www.rugby.com.au/news/2016/06/28/22/19/buildcorp-nrc-fixture-announcement Tries to be wortg 6 points, all kicks for goal worth 2. Greater Sydney Rams to be now known as the Western Sydney Rams. Which I have to say, is pleasing. They appear to be playing all...

Fulltime domestic Women's Sevens Competition from 2017

The article mentions opening up to bids for between 6-10 teams. Which is interesting. I like the idea and especially like its linking to Universities. Contrary to what some may like to suggest Uni's are the elitist institutions they were once perceived to be. What they do offer is access to...

    Western Force 2017

Considering he has no pedigree in the game and his supposed behavioural issues its probably a good thing the rumours are unfounded.

    Western Force 2017

Don't follow League and am only vaguely aware of Holmes but when did his name come up and how likely is it? It's amazing this little trend. These are all young blokes who could have reasonable careers in League but are in the cases of Koribete and potentially Rona and Radradra coming back to...

    Waratahs 2017

Didn't Maddock choose to play 3rds because he wanted to focus on his education in his last year at school?

I've actually gone into more detail on the idea previously which pretty aligned with your thoughts on the coaching pathways and forums. I think outside of being able to access clear and practicable resources to take to the training pitch such a resource would be a driver of collaboration and may...

    NRC onwards and upwards

I was responding to the idea that the clubs are funding the NSW NRC teams. Outside of the Rays which that is actually the case, the level of funding to the others isn't as substatial as some may like to represent.

    NRC onwards and upwards

Outside of the Rays how much financial support has there actually been. The Rams are privately owned with the clubs holding minority stakes, wasn't the 'Fanatics' bloke putting up the cash for the Stars. Fairly certain that Country's backing was majority private as well.

I actually think with the right application we could do something very similar to that of England. May be even more depending on how you go about it. How I'd structure it would be first a multi format participation program. From Sevens to 10s right through to the 15 man game. In terms of 7s, I'd...

    Rio Olympics

I disagree with this being a ludicrous result re my previous comment but what I do think is ludicrous is that its only a 12 team tournament in Rio. I know the IOC wanted it this way and so be it but here's hoping that the 7s is a huge success in Rio and come 2020 the IOC can be convinced that a...

    Rio Olympics

Something a lot of people are overlooking is that Spain haven't exactly come out of the blue here. They've been a presence on the World Series for some time. The core group of guys they have in their 7s squad have been working toward this for a while. They didn't just fluke it. But, yes, I...

In theory with the $10 million dollar development allotment the ARU could do something similar. Which actually may not to all that bad of an idea.
