NRC Rnd 1: NSW Country v Brisbane City

Where the fuck has the skill in Australian Rugby gone? All I've seen so far is meathead Rugby. No wonder we're fucked.

NRC Rnd 1: Perth Spirit v Melbourne Rising

Woukd like Shepard to stop referring to the Spirit as the Force and the Rising as the Rebels.

NRC Rnd 1: Perth Spirit v Melbourne Rising

Missed the Spirit's third try thanks to my net dropping off. But Spirit takes the game.

NRC Rnd 1: Perth Spirit v Melbourne Rising

Whoa!!! That was a nice little effort. Spirit up 12-8.

NRC Rnd 1: Perth Spirit v Melbourne Rising

That pic shows a solid crowd in attendance. Would prefer to be seeing that as opposed to the soccer game in the distance.

NRC Rnd 1: Perth Spirit v Melbourne Rising

He hasn't shut up. Keeps talking over the other commentators. Needs to be given the flick for the next game.

NRC Rnd 1: Perth Spirit v Melbourne Rising

Too comfortable. Who's there to really pressure him for a start?
  8. WorkingClassRugger

NRC Rnd 1: Perth Spirit v Melbourne Rising

Not knocking the effort. The intensity is very high but yes, for all the intensity the level of skills is severely lacking. Story of Australian Rugby at present.

NRC Rnd 1: Perth Spirit v Melbourne Rising

Let's be generous and call this a very scrappy affair.

    Western Force 2017

I still don't think axing the Force is likely. Remember the article was written by the same journo who started the whole 'move the Force to Western Sydney' rubbish. What is needed isn't so much a contraction of teams but a reorganisation of our game and its professional arm. We need a more...

    Western Force 2017

    Sort of a reclaimation project.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

The ARU aren't giving the clubs any money directly. They are allocating $300,000 a season to ensure the broadcast of the Shute Shield. That's not nothing.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

The Fitz article is well meaning but tends to maintain the idea that the grassroots of the game only extends to 12 clubs in Sydney and 10 in Brisbane. Which is funny as these same clubs are trying to position themselves as elite performance structures. I agree that the best way to fix our...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

You mentioned numpties recruiting from other ocdes and there being better candidates already in place. Not always so.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Eastwood own all the built infrastructure on that land as well? Including the bar? That's why Southern have been able to maintain themselves, or so we have been told. Why can't Eastwood?

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Irae Simone was clear and away the best 12 in the SS this season. Where was he playing last year?

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

He's the guy who's living in the past. The clubs cannot provide the necessary environment to continue the development of players. I watch the Shute Shield every week and have my own club allegiances and freely admit that.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Isn't he the President of the club so broke they cannot invest in an NRC team but in a previous article boasted about having board members that could do all the administrative duties of the ARU before lunch?

    Rugby News from unexpected places

The Rugby scene is also only developing in Miami. It's questionable whether it could gather enough interest. I think where PRO goes in the next few years depends on investment. Evidently the guys behind Swansea City in the EPL are looking at the Pro12 proposal. PRO need to begin chasing these...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Back to Rugby. Amazing what getting one PRO league off the ground can do. Now both the Pro12 and Toulon are looking to set up franchises in the States. Both are very early and probably unlikely. Article suggest that the Pro12 is looking on the East Coast but I've seen severalvmentions of both...
