    Brumbies v Reds, Bruce Stadium, 7/4/2018 @7:45pm

In any case - a real momentum shift. Reds need to get back on top. It's been a good game to watch. Maybe not overly free flowing, but certainly both teams having a crack. CFS is a different player.

Interesting decision. I thought his foot was out, but given that they didn't I'm a bit surprised that they didn't award it. I'd be interested in the view of any refs on here. I distinctly remember when I did my level 1 (a while ago now) that they advised that if the ball is on the ground in...

Super Rugby Round 8, Sunwolves vs Waratahs - Saturday 3:15pm

I dunno Cyclo - once they’ve cleaned past the ball the back of the ruck is the original last test, not where the cleaners end up (as far as I understand). Tahs unlucky, but the ruling was right for mine.

No doubt the Budgie Smuggler crew will be on to the footage quickly as well.

Super Rugby Round 8, Sunwolves vs Waratahs - Saturday 3:15pm

I reckon both teams defence coaches might be getting a bollocking next week - but I’m finding the game highly entertaining. Lots of ball movement and every level of offload from skilful to very ambitious.

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Whatever influence the ref had, that was pretty impressive composure by the Canes. Winning is undoubtably a habit and it was even more impressive without their normal on field generals.

ACT Brumbies v NSW Waratahs, GIO Stadium 31 March

Yes - definitely sarcasm on my part. The whole grabbing people in the air happens all the time. Like a lot of things, refs often let it go and sometimes pick up the smallest infraction. But Simmons is often careless when he does it and makes it easy for the refs to pin him.

Of course Thorn wants coverage. He’s not an idiot. It is vital to any successful sporting organisation. But he appears to accept that if he wants the right type of coverage it needs to be earned and is prepared to play the long game to achieve that.

Nah - that can’t be right. He’s shit. Don’t the players know anything. Must have been professional courtesy.

Genuine and question - do we actually have any evidence that either Tui or Phillip can play 6 at even super level. To my knowledge/memory Tui hasn’t played there at all at either super or NRC level. Not so sure on Phillip. I have an idea he may have played some 6. I am not personally...

I wouldn’t be confident CFS will get the nod over Kuridrani either. Despite performing above most people’s expectations I am not sure that there will be a flood of new Wallabies starters from the Reds unless there are injuries to incumbants. They are still only third in the conference for...

He’s had a remarkably good career really - when you consider he is apparently shite at pretty much everything.

I’d be very surprised if Korcyzk wasn’t picked.

Yeah - agree. But I also think we have a tendenancy to play great wingers in other positions with the sometimes mistaken view that we’ll get more out of them. JOC (James O'Connor) comes to mind. At one stage I thought he was genuinely one of the best two wingers in the world. He was never as good in any other...

    Reds 2018

Don’t get me wrong SouthernX, I like Tui. In fact I think he could be outstanding. But he has no game fitness and I think I Douglas has been very good. If Higgers has come back via the bench I think it is pretty likely that Tui will.

    The Wallabies Thread

Agree on his potential FP - although I am not sure he will be a better 13 than he will be a winger. Sometimes I think we are too quick to move really good wingers in. I also think you need a kicker in your back 3. At this stage I more see him competing with Koriobete and I see Koriobete as...

    Reds 2018

After a possible touch of experimentation/rotation/resting last game it’ll be interesting to see what Thorn sees as his best available side this week. I’m picking BPA & Tuttle to return, DP to get another shot at 12, leaving CFS to stay on the wing, and Higgers back into the starting side. So-...

    Brumbies v Reds, Bruce Stadium, 7/4/2018 @7:45pm

As a Reds fan, this game makes me nervous. Despite the form of the Brumbies and the apparent rumours of lack of harmony in the camp, the Brumbies best team is a very strong one. Pocock remains (IMO) the player most capable of single handedly changing a result.

    Reds 2018

Any talk of pencilling in wins makes me nervous as hell. I do look forward to watching the team go out there and give a good account of themselves though.

    Reds 2018

Same as his general form I thought Slipper was a bit average at scrum time for the first two games and there was a noticeable improvement when JP came on. I though Slipper was fine the last two. The Stormers game was a bit hard to judge because of the issues Tupou was having.
