Should’ve asked Quade in for the photo shoot. If nothing else, it would have lit up this thread.

    Reds 2018

I’ve got to say I think this would be a mistake by Thorn. Stewart by no means killed it, but I thought he showed enough to be retained as a starter in front of Lance. But, if Thorn won’t start him I hope he lets him go back and play some premier grade. Young blokes need to be playing. Not...

Round 11 Reds V Lions Sat Apr 28 3:05PM Suncorp Stadium

I enjoyed that. I do wonder about the contrast of the two Reds sides that have played this year. One of them very organised and committed in defence and very disciplined with not conceding penalties and the other much the opposite. Hopefully that is just a product of the youth in the side and...

    Reds 2018

It was very noticeable that the forwards seldom offloaded, or even looked to offload. Ball security is great, but one out runners just doesn’t get the job done these days.

    Reds 2018

I agree his distribution skills still need to improve. One of the problems with the Reds attack is that neither Kerevi nor CFS are distributors and Toua has come off the boil. But my main point is he is currently one of our most effective attackers. Whilst he may not be passing the ball as much...

Agreed. And I guess my point to BHs post was that I feel Timu has been consistently very good - maybe just not as good as his first 3 games. To be honest I actually think he has been pretty close to that level, but hasn’t had the same opportunities because the team around him hasn’t been quite...

    Reds 2018

Kerevi is topping (or close to) the run metres week in week out, consistently beats defenders, even when heavily marked, and he can and does pass and offload the ball. His defence needs work, but his attack is outstanding.

Might sound like it - but I believe he is going to be a much better player than Lopeti. Has a bigger impact and much better hands.

He’s come off the boil a bit. ‘Backward at a rate of knots’ is a bit over the top IMO. And he was pretty bloody outstanding for the first couple of rounds so, to some extent, the only way was likely to be down. He offers us something in the backrow that no one else gives us at the moment and...

    Reds 2018

Yeah - probably. But our current formation is too one dimensional. Just making one change like bringing in Stewart at FB or bringing DP at 12 either doesn’t fix all the issues, or will only create problems elsewhere. Whilst the above configuration lacks experience, and I don’t want to ignore the...

I would like to see a backline of Tuttle, Stewart, Perese, DP, Kerevi, CFS, Daugunu but I feel that is too many changes in one go.

IMO I’d still have Koriobete in front of him. But he is certainly a much improved player and is really putting his hand up.

Super Rugby Round 9, 2018 - Waratahs vs Reds - Saturday 14 April @ SCG

He came on and played 6 when Higgers left the field, the finished at lock. Personally I expect Douglas to start again.

    Brumbies v Reds, Bruce Stadium, 7/4/2018 @7:45pm

I must admit I struggle with it being a yellow card offence in every instance. To me, it is often a reflex action and I thought that was the case yesterday. I am okay with the low tolerance to things like should charges and lifting tackles because of the player safety involved but losing a...

Yeah - but I guess if I say someone is the best by some distance then by default it puts me on one side of the fence. But I'll leave it at that.

Pocock remains the best rugby player in Australia by some distance. I'm sorry - I know in advance that will upset some people and I mean no disrespect to Hooper who is a wonderful player in his own right - but Pocock is something else.

I don't think you can blame the TMO. I was of the understanding they could only speak up re foul play.

Yeah - I just deleted my post because Marto obviously thought it went back. To be fair to the ref - it looked a knock on by the Reds, but in this day and age you'd think he would have taken the chance to check.
