I actually agree with the general point you are making, but I am happy to claim Sam Stosur and I don’t think it is fair to be coupled with Tomic like that. She has 1 more grand slam titles than 99.9% of the population.

Good Reds team. Looking forward to seeing how that backline goes. Quite well balance IMO. With Mafi starting it’ll be interesting if we can really turn the screws in the scrums.

    Karmichael Hunt Stuff

I believe you missed my point. Or maybe it was not well made. Hunt may not want to be a community role model, but he is would be well aware that there are standards of behaviour that he is expected to adhere to maintain his good standing with the organisation. That is something he willingly...

    Karmichael Hunt Stuff

There are numerous scenarios in which I can lose my job if I am found guilty of breaking the law or if I am found to have breached my organisations code of conduct (and a number of those instances include things outside work.) Hunt signed a contract for big money - if he doesn’t feel he should...

I have mentioned it a couple of times, but I do think that Douglas finding his mojo again has to be making a massive difference. Not just in the sum total of his individual efforts this year vs last, but as a real ‘follow me’ type example for the young guys. He seems to fit perfectly into the...

    Reds 2018

To be fair Zero Cool - I think Sully’s point was essentially that a number of posters asked specifically to have a seperate thread on Hunt because they didn’t want the Reds thread being overrun (which it was threatening to do at one point). So he was really just directing traffic.

    Reds 2018

Fair enough - I see your point now. Even though you are right in that he hasn’t publicly spoken out about Hunt’s behaviour I still feel it would go against the cultural change he is trying to achieve to condone it. I am mindful of Sullys post above and will leave it at that.

Any chance the whole yellow fever things is just a ruse by Thorn? He spent plenty of time in Origin camp. I can imagine him chartering a plane and bringing the team in at the very last minute (possible via a Caxton St fly by) and bringing the boys straight to the field after several hours in a...

Big Dog you are essentially saying he didn’t know what he was doing was wrong. I don’t agree with that. He wasn’t drunk. I agree with USA Rugger - he’d already had a first chance. If he can’t or won’t adhere to expectations then it is time for him and the Reds to part company.

    Reds 2018

Not for me. I was a big supporter of him being picked last year and thought he could have been our Test 12 or 15. But he has blown his chance IMO. With Thorn taking such a hard line on culture I think he would leave himself open if he were to pick him. Plus if reports are true that sponsors...

I liked Carter - but he couldn’t make the step up to be a quality test player. Enever has time on his side. With all other options available (and in form) I would have him no higher than 6th or 7th on the pecking order, but that wasn’t the case when he was picked.

Good on him. But, can I just say, my least favourite type of rugby player - big and fast. I hate those guys.

And I guess I was hoping to get people’s views of who the inform players were. Given that a number of the players listed above are t making run on at the moment for their super team, they aren’t likely to be getting anyone’s attention.

    The Wallabies Thread

Don’t mind the concept but I think there are a number of guys in that list who aren’t realistically close to the selection frame. However, if you expanded the criteria slightly to make it the ‘dark horse’ or ‘bolter’ XV then names like Chris Feauai-Sautia come into the mix. Maybe even...

So - what’s our form XV update after the weekend? I’d have a crack at it, but I didn’t see the Tahs vs Rebels and, seeing as that is 50% of our players, I don’t think I am best placed. Although - even if I did I’d probably just pick the Reds starting 15. :)

Not quite the same though. Sam would have stepped on the 10 after he smashed him as well - just for good measure.

Timu was very good at controlling the ball behind the scrum for QC (Quade Cooper) last year and their scrum was going forward more often and more quickly then the Reds. Not to say it isn’t an issue - but the ball cams out a few funny spots and I wonder if it got a deflection off the locks once or twice. I...
