    Brumbies 2017

Surprised an NRL club didn't throw some money his way.

True. Then there's players from other nations that could be interested in playing. The biggest question is money. Would this hypothetical scenario deliver enough money for it to be viable. From the initial TV deal the original 10 NRC cost the ARU $1.5m a season. You could safely assume that...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Honestly, it makes little difference to my enjoyment of the game.

In terms of balance another team in either wouldn't be ideal. Adelaide has a ground and a supporter base albeit rather small. Could be workable. I also like the idea of the Rays and Rams taking games to Newcastle/Central Coast and Wollongong. While I know they are in their own right distinct...

I'd prefer a third Qld side but certainly could see a forth NSW team being the chosen path. I'd much prefer to see both Country's remain regardless. I think it would be a real point of difference for the game. If you go to a 16-18 game season then that's nine home games that could be played in...

    Where would you put it?

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It certainly would be better value but my issue is still that I only use it for sport. I have Netflix and Stan for the entertainment side of things and if there's a series not on either I want I can just buy it via my Xbox Live account. I'll keep the set up obviously but I think Foxtel is...

My understanding from what I have read is that they are working toward entering the Fijian squad for next season. As for any potential of Super Rugby going tits up. I doubt it. Thiugh just for fun if that were the case you could just switch in the Rebels, Spirit and Vikings for their Super Rugby brands while...
  9. WorkingClassRugger

    Australian Rugby / RA

Which would be a shame if that is the case because as with nearly everyone who contribites to these kinds of discussions he does offer some provocative thoughts and ideas. While I don't tend to agree with his overall assessment of the ARU administration, he does offer some interesting...

If we add any new domestic teams and that should be a very big if as I agree with the sentiment on working to elevate the overall play among the current NRC teams. It needs to be a long term planned integration. Honestly, I believe that the best way to go to 10 teams would be to see if the...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I currently have Foxtel Play and the Sports package is $25 a month. Bundled with the basic entertainment package (you have to choose one) and it's $50 a month. If they are removing the need to add on the bundled extra and just get the Sports package for $35 a month then that would be worthwhile.

    NRC onwards and upwards

I think we're currently at a good place in terms of domestic squads. With the ARU, FRU and World Rugby currently in the process of paving the way for Fijian squad to enter I think any expansion in terms of teams should come via this route.

Which would provide a overall benefit to the players and the game in general.

So it offers 21 hours of further development opportunities. Looks like a good program. I'm not against the idea of taking what works in other sports and applying it to ours as long as it's executed correctly.

    NRC onwards and upwards

You make a fair bit of sense regarding player development and pathways. We need to focus on greater levels of overall engagement while streamlining our current structures. I agree that any kind of rep structure should take place in the post-season. I'd like to see the NRC clubs look to build...

NRC Rnd 6: Perth Spirit v Brisbane City

Andrew Swain has been doing it for a while so he has no real excuses.

NRC Rnd 6: Perth Spirit v Brisbane City

Any thoughts on the commentary. It's pretty obvious it's Tiana's first time in the booth.

NRC Rnd 6: Perth Spirit v Brisbane City

It's been a grind. I know they are probably the two most forward oriented teams in the competition but still. City seem a little void of ideas with ball in hand at times and the Spirit look scrappier than usual. The Spirit much like the Force are missing Lance.

    Damn and what new trophy?
