NRC Rnd 7: Rams v Eagles

Wasn't able to watch the stream today so having Lindo call it for us was awesome.

Carter, Rokocoko , Inhoff - Corticosteroid Use (Allegedly)

I seriously doubt there was ever any intent to circumvent the doping regulations. I have a really hard time imagining a player with the career and profile of Carter (or Rokocoko and Imhoff respectively) would risk it. If anything I think there may have beenva stuff up on behalf of the medical...

Carter, Rokocoko , Inhoff - Corticosteroid Use (Allegedly)

http://www.planetrugby.com/news/carter-rokocoko-imhoff-hit-by-steroids-claims/ According to both Carter and Rokocko's management they had Temporary Use Exemption (TUE's) for a Calf (Carter) and Knee (Rokocoko). However, according to the article the French anti-doping agency are denying those...

    Shute Shield 2017

Nor should they. If they want to expand the Shute Shield they need to identify growth regions and look at established clubs that could be developed toward Shute standard. This would invlove the establishment of junior structures etc. It shouldn't be done over 2 or 3 years but set a 10 year...

    NRC onwards and upwards

Operations on the ground should be franchise specific but essentially everything else should look to move toward a centralised structure.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

Stats I found on him said he's around 202cm these days. From what I've seen in his highlights reel he looks like Will Skelton but quicker and more explosive in contact.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

As above, he signed a 5 year deal which seems to be nearing its end. Maybe he does want to play for France. But that shouldn't stop anyone here talking to him.

    Shute Shield 2017

There are currently 240,000 people living in the Macathur area. The figure is set to double in the next 10-15 years. Your heat map doesn't take that into account.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

Then the Rebs should be on the phone to his management starting talks to bring him home. Just finished watching his highlight from the 14/15 Top14 season and for such a big fella he's very mobile. I think he'd do quite well playing in the more open style that Super Rugby fosters.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

I've often wondered what came of Edwin Maka. Surprised he hasn't come home looking to try his luck here.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Do Foxsports pay for all the games featuring Aus teams or just the ones they produce?

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

Mate according to the article he was offered big money from France but opted for League. We were likely never really in it.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I actually think we should be looking to push the NRC back. Starting after the AFL and NRL seasons have concluded. Allow the clubs to run as long of a season as they want as long as there is ample lead in time. Of course, ideally this would also be coupled with the elimination of the June...

    NRC onwards and upwards

A women's competition should be way up on the to do list for the ARU in regards to the NRC. Another idea, and it's out there, would be searching for opportunities to broadcast the competition in new markets. Read today that the NBL just signed off on a deal to stream every game into China via...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

It wouldn't need to be 5 new teams. If they were to go this route you use the Rebels, Brumbies and Force brands while having NSW keep their NRC split. Revert the Tahs amd Reds back to true representive teams. Add in the mooted Fiji squad and you have 9 teams. So one more. For this to even be...

It was brought up as purely part of a hypothetical we were indulging over on the other page.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

    Your schtick is becoming tiresome.

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

The last figures from the RL 4Ns I could find was 2014. Played in Australia. The final of that tournament drew 697,000 viewers. So using your method that figure would be around 70,000 for a game played at 1:30 in the morning. Here's an interesting one. The RLWC drew 201,000. The highest rating...

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

Are you using the ratings from a domestic test to come up with that figure? Just because that many may tune in for a game against New Zealand when it's at a convenient time slot doesn't mean they will at 1 in the morning.
  20. WorkingClassRugger

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

How many of those numbers would likely tune into a Kangaroos match in England being played at 1:30 in the morning? Two major events played in prime time slots aren't an apt comparison.
