2pm (local time) kick off (remembering daylight savings starts Saturday night) at UWA Oval

Spirit strengthened up front, but without Lance.

Brisbane much the same other than some tinkering in the backline (and a couple of WA boys starting).

City backline lacks penetration IMO, their strength is in the forwards through the big ball runners in Tui and Naisarani.

Keen to see Korczyk get more game time this week

Surprised that Levi Aumua hasn't had a run for City. He was a consistent tackle breaker in the centres for Souths this year. Anyone know if he's injured?

Ready and Gibbon out of the City starting lineup. Bench players started and were replaced by backup rake Moli Sooaemalelagi and outside back Toby White on the pine.

Early stages at McGillivray. YC against the Spirit's halfback Louwrens at 10 minutes.

8-all after the first quarter

Tries to Jake McIntyre and Heath Tessmann.

Jeez these two teams make for hard watching in 2016

It's been a grind. I know they are probably the two most forward oriented teams in the competition but still. City seem a little void of ideas with ball in hand at times and the Spirit look scrappier than usual. The Spirit much like the Force are missing Lance.

Yeah its good that they're trying to develop new commentators, Australian Rugby needs some new flavour outside of Greg Martin and Phil Kearns.. But sheesh, they aren't helping with interest levels at this stage.

Andrew Swain has been doing it for a while so he has no real excuses.

backup rake Moli Sooaemalelagi and outside back Toby White on the pine.

Around 7 mins into his stint, Moli gets shown cheese by the Hoff. Then McCalman scores and Lukhan Tui gets cheddar as well.

26-16 @ 52 mins

Benny Mac with the double. Ian Prior can't buy a conversion 1/6 today

38-16 with around a quarter to go

And it's all over. Perth into 3rd spot, Brisbane 8th.

Both Qld teams will have prizes next week; one takes the Purcell Cup and the other gets the spoon.

Have to admit to consider they actually pay some of the foxsports commentators is embarrassing

Perth did what they should of with the gap in experience. Saying that they still had to go out and do the business and they did. The Perth boys have been putting in the extras fitness wise and it showed in the 2nd half.
Hopefully it transfers to improved performances by the Force.

Tiana did alright in commentary, She just needs to write a few cornerstone phrases to go back to when she gets tongue tied.
