But doesn’t he have to do placements as part of his uni? Which goes back to Ignoto’s post of it having to be in the State he is studying.

And, yet, we actually lost by less in the end. Anyway, we’re splitting hairs really. Both performances were shit. I thought last nights was worse/more disappointing. If others didn’t, I get that.

Exactly. Amongst all the bad calls made, hiring a guy with such a poor track record as some sort of mentor is amongst one of the dafter ones (and it is quite a list).

Yeah - but at least last year there was a clear and obvious failing in that we employed a ridiculous defensive system. Arguably last year was worse from the point of view of the coaches employing a strategy that rank amateurs could see was flawed. Last night there is no clear identifiable...

I thought last night was worse to be honest. I expected progress. If anything we regressed.

Well maybe I am not astute enough. Losing wasn’t a surprise to me, but the method of our capitulation and the total disfunction of our set piece certainly was. I agree that there are no quick fixes - but it has also been apparent what some of the issues have been for some time and last night...

Regardless of posters favourite and least favourite players, surely arguing over performances yesterday, with maybe 2-3 exceptions at the most is an arguement over who was least shit. Trying to assign blame over the lineout, which was an absolute trainwreck, surely needs to be directed towards...

Hooper, Pocock & Timu were all used against Ireland as targets and won a throw or two each. The question to me is why NZ found it so easy to read/defend all our line outs and why there was so much disconnect between the throwers and the jumpers. There were a couple of times where it looked...

Problem is your 5th squad prop has to be able to cover both sides and that is the position Ala'alatoa currency occupies. Not ideal for him, but he is certainly the best chance of pulling it off from the props we had available.

I was hoping that Brad might have been able to get his old team mate Peter Ryan involved, but it seems he is heading OS to assist with Fiji.

Wasn’t he playing mostly 13 for the Rebels when he first got picked for his Test debut? The bigger issue, for mine, is that he hasn’t played there much lately, but neither has Folau and I think it would upset structured more to move Folau.

    Bledisloe 1 - Saturday 18 August 2018 - ANZ Stadium, Sydney

I can see the logic in that. Folau is our best 15, but I am more convinced with Banks or DHP at 15 then I am with Hodge at 13. It also makes it easier to play a 6-2 bench. Still - I think Hodge is one of those guys who seems able to rise to the occasion whereas Banks, for all his undoubted...

Well that seems very good news amongst the gloom. Hopefully that report is true. Jim McKay would be a great addition.

I think we do need someone else with experience that can play 10 Reg. I would rather we not see Paia’aua as the first back up - if Stewart has a significant injury that we are moving our first pick 12 across and compromise there. Whether the 10 could also be the fullback depends largely on how...

I have no doubt Tui would love to play 80, but if he goes 80 minutes I would bet he will finish the game at lock. If that happens I think Ned Hanigan becomes a very strong chance for the bench role. I agree Samu is the best to replace Hooper and/or Pocock. With a 6 forward bench, Cheika...

Yeah, of course Scrubber. Talk is always cheap. But, from my view, Thorn’s problem is not what he is saying but the extent to which he is taking the ‘no dickheads’ (for want of a better description) policy. For what it’s worth I don’t really agree with a ‘zero tolerance’ approach - these guys...
