Well he must have - because he did. And he got it exactly right.

Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

Look - we disagree on the merits of certain players, and that is fine. You have clearly felt Cheika hasn’t picked his best side from the start. If that is the case, then change makes sense. If a player is particularly fatigued, then some rotation makes sense also. I wouldn’t have picked the...

Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

I agree. Do you mean by your comment that we need to change the team to pick the right team? If so, I don’t agree with that. I felt the selectors got it pretty much right. A couple of positions are certainly debatable, but I was happy with the side and I still think the should persist with the...

Wallabies vs Ireland - 3rd test - Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Sydney Football Stadium

I’d be happy to see Cheika retain the whole side, with just changed made where required for injury. I believe Rodda calls for the Reds, in which case bring Arnold straight in for Coleman and leave Simmons to finish the game. If we want more from Tupou, just bring him on a bit earlier. The...

Wallabies v Ireland, Saturday 16th June, 8.00pm, AAMI Park, Melbourne

Dan54 - my take in it is that the vast majority of contests don’t end up with the catcher taking a fall like Barrett did last night because wingers are very aware that if they go into a contest for the ball without consideration for the rules/player safety they are likely to be carded. Red or...

Wallabies v Ireland, Saturday 16th June, 8.00pm, AAMI Park, Melbourne

Yeah - it was interesting that when they are reviewing the hell out of everything that One didn’t get a mention. Certainly on my understanding of the rules, that was a yellow card offence. But maybe that is wrong - the commentators didn’t seem overly worried about it. Having said that, I am...

    June Internationals not involving Australia

Maybe - but it’s hardly the All Blacks fault and nor is it the refs. It is a clear red card under the rules and it has been for a couple of years. The blame lies solely with the French winger.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

If I recall correctly, Cheika only took two halves and two hookers, but virtually as soon as he got through the match in which he played the entire second string side (USA I think) a couple of players were jettisoned for injury and an extra half and hooker joined the squad. Not saying the...

Wallabies v Ireland, Saturday 16th June, 8.00pm, AAMI Park, Melbourne

It’s got me thinking now. I certainly can’t think of too many. I think King George may have occasionally and maybe Michael Jones from NZ, but they were both a bit taller than your average. Colby does. McCaw did, but not often. I think Hodgson did a bit, but not often. Otherwise not many I can...

I certainly don’t remember him jumping in line outs. Was a pretty good fetcher though.

I am confused. Are you saying we don’t have a 7 or we just don’t play him there. Pocock certainly fills the mould of a traditional 7 IMO. He just doesn’t wear 7 which, personally, I couldn’t care less about.

I would assume his comment is more directed towards our lack of depth at senior level in those positions.

Wallabies v Ireland, Saturday 16th June, 8.00pm, AAMI Park, Melbourne

Last weekend Timu, Hooper & Pocock all won lineout ball. So, even though Hooper and Pocock are not prominent jumpers, the Irish have to cover 5 targets. Let’s see how we go on the weekend - but I think once we have a bit of cohesion, the lineout will be good enough.
