Australia vs South Africa 8th September

Not a pretty game. A lot of so-so performances. All the late changes, and the injury run during the game would have been disruptive, no doubt, but I really don’t know that that explains last night. I shuddered every time the commentary team mentioned the dew. Without meaning to single him...

NRC Rnd 2: Fiji Drua v Brisbane City

Has Korcyzk played lock at club level? I am very surprised by his selection there. Having said that he is a guy who I’ve doubted a few times in the past and he’s often made me eat humble pie.

    QLD TEAMS 2018

I wonder if they’ll be tempted to leave Petaia at 13. It seems his natural position.

Australia vs South Africa 8th September

Yeah mate - I get why the complaining about favouritism to NZ would get tiresome for you, but the constant targeting of Pocock is shit, neck rolls are bloody dangerous, the citing process is well recognised as a joke & Franks is a class A grub. The sort of shithouse thug that the game would be...

    Reds 2019

There are two in Sydney and they have both signed shooters recently. Top class shooters. Maria Folau is exceptional, but none of the teams tend to carry more than 2 top shooters. Some can & do cover other positions - Goal Attacks do tend to make good Wing Attacks as well and some Goal...

If this is true, what options realistically do the Reds have. If the contract is already signed then I don’t see how they would get out of it without another costly payout.

    The Wallabies Thread

I thought the recent test series showed us that our locks still have some way to go (including Coleman). Certainly a lock with test experience coming back into the Tahs would be good for them and, by extension good for Australian rugby. Props aren’t the only ones who tend to get better with age.

NRC Rnd 1: Brisbane City v Western Force

And this is where Quade’s justification falls down in my view. I would have found well constructed try scored off a conventional pass far more entertaining then a botched try on the back of a bit of unnecessary razzle dazzle. Unfortunately there days I find myself saying more and more ‘I like...

    Reds 2019

There is definitely a free spot on our roster for a fullback and Israel would strengthen any team. How much he would cost and whether we can afford it - I have no idea - but his comments seem to have suggested he will be highly influenced by where his wife lives/plays.

    Reds 2019

Ok - I defer to the netball expert in my family here - my wife informs me that Caitlin Bassett has left the Lightening and filled the shooter spot at the Giants, and that Maria does often play GS. In which case, Maria Folau to the Sunshine Coast (and, presumably Israel to the Reds) is a...

I don’t see it as likely. Sunshine Coast already have an outstanding GA in Steph Wood. It would be a massive waste to have both her and Maria in the same team.

NRC Rnd 1: Brisbane City v Western Force

Brisbane being very free and easy with the ball and have made a few soft turnovers. Cooper made the comment at half time about bringing the crowds along, but I think they can be entertaining without being quite so Harlem Globetrotter.

NRC Rnd 1: Canberra Vikings vs Queensland Country

I think you’re being tough BR. Re-watched the game this morning and I thought he had a very good game. Certainly had some sparkling moments in attack. Doesn’t mean he’ll cut it at the next level, but credit where it is due. Vikings have the makings of a very dynamic attacking backline once the...

Article in the Courier today puts McKay, Brian Smith and Scott Wisemantel all in the mix for the Reds assistant job. At least there seems to be some quality candidates with extensive experience in high level coaching.
