    Round 1 - Waratahs vs Hurricanes @ Brookvale - Saturday 16 February 2019

I missed HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) above. You are right - that was a very impressive showing from a young bloke stepping up. I get what you say about Talakai - but he doesn't get the play super rugby without being aware that the opposition is going to throw some stuff at him. To get caught 3 times in a row was a bit...

    Round 1 - Waratahs vs Hurricanes @ Brookvale - Saturday 16 February 2019

Holloway has really come on as a lock. It is notable that he took several line out steals last night given some have suggested his height will hold him back from higher duties. Hunt was a bit ineffectual early - fell off a few tackles he should have made, but got better as the game went on...

Round 2 - Reds vs Highlanders at Forsyth Barr

Highlanders with the benefit of a win in the first round & home ground advantage. Reds with the ‘benefit’ of minimal expectations. My preferred team has fluctuated. I am guessing it will be very similiar to the team that played the Chiefs. My preferred team - 1. Fotuaika/Hoopert - honestly...

Look, none of us like you guys, but that is a bit extreme to be honest.

Awesome scrum Tahs. Talk about redemption.

Fuck Tahs - stop giving away soft penalties.

Hmmm - did Latu’s knees actually touch the ground then? I thought he looked okay.

Two nice kicks from Folau so far.

    Round 1 - Waratahs vs Hurricanes @ Brookvale - Saturday 16 February 2019

I don’t know what the problem is, but if there has been grass newly laid which hasn’t yet taken root it would certainly be a risk to knee injuries. That would be the most obvious issue I could think of. A couple of Australian fields had that issue a few seasons ago.

    Round 1 - Waratahs vs Hurricanes @ Brookvale - Saturday 16 February 2019

Interesting that they have reported on the radio today that the NRL clubs are boycotting Brookvale as the state of the field is considered an injury risk. Apparently a trial game scheduled there next weekend has been moved. Hope all the players get through unscathed tonight.

He did put it straight in the breadbasket though, to be fair.

    Rebels 2019

Daley's scrummaging is not his strongest attribute and I am not sure he has ever been a tight head.

    Round 1 - Brumbies v Rebels - Fri 15th@7:45pm

Yeah, it’s hyperbole and I wish they’d give it a rest - but the bar for performances by an Aussie 10 over the last 3 years isn’t high. Edit: he has been good though.

    Un-Australian Activities 2019

Always hard to see a guy bust his guts only to be let down by his teammates.

    Reds 2019

But the point is that they weren’t putting in/performing on the field and were (apparently) not prepared to address the short falls off the field. In terms of time frames, it’s been 5-6 years. I assume the seeds of destruction were sowed in the post-2011 period. I am not trying to say it is...

    Reds 2019

I get what you are saying guys, I really do, but I guess my point is that during the off-season I read that all of Higgers, Salakai-Loto, Rodda, Tuttle, Kerevi and the Smith twins (out of the ones I can remember) didn't like the set up and wanted out. Now maybe there is some truth there, but it...

    Reds 2019

Look that could be right. But last year it also did the rounds that Thorn wouldn’t pick him again after an incident on an away trip. And that was just the ne of many rumours about people he had supposedly fallen out with that turned out to be false. Clearly Thorn is prepared to put a line...

    Waratahs 2019

It’s a good question Silverado. There may be legitimate reasons, I don’t know. But Fa’agase seemed pretty solid to me without being overly spectacular (and therefore expensive). Certainly I would like him still on the books, although Fotuaika did a pretty good job against the Cheifs.
