    RWC Pool D - Wallabies v Georgia, Friday 11th October, 9.15pm ADST

I’d imagine the selectors would be pretty clear, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are waiting to see how Dempsey, Petaia & Tupou get through the games before they finalise the selection. Dempsey & Petaia to see if they’re 100% (or close enough) and Tupou to be confident he can bring the best...

Fair point. I wasn’t trying to be critical of the Tahs recruitment in my posts - merely just making the observation that Kemeny looks a good prospect and that I was dubious about the height/weight stats that were posted on him (admittedly only on my observations from TV and having never seen the...

Is he though? Player heights/weights are often wrong. He looks much bigger than 104kgs to me and every bit a number 8 from what I’ve seen. Super rugby quality or not remains to be seen, but certainly filling the role at NRC level from what I’ve seen.

Rob Simmons to reach 100 test caps when he takes the field. Regardless of the stick he often cops on here that is a fantastic achievement and a testament to how highly he is rated by top level coaches and players. Must be doing something right.

    Waratahs 2020

From what I’ve seen in the NRC, if he is only 104 kgs he plays comfortably above his weight. Seems to hit the line hard and carry strongly.

    RWC Week 4 matches

Whatever the problems with the ref, this is a cracker of a game.

Fair point. May well open the door for Hamish to at least start the initial games.

Kepu’s experience at THP would be pretty highly valued by the coaching staff I reckon but, based on comments the other day, TT has also been held back by a concussion. Whether the current selection shows that Kepu remains higher in the pecking order or just that they want TT to get used to his...

One thing I like about Stewart is that he signed on for 3 more years. If I recall correctly, he did this after JOC (James O'Connor) was signed. He has been moved around a bit and I sometimes felt he should have got more opportunities than he has. I wouldn’t have been surprised if he either looked for an...

I think people worry too about young guys getting ‘scarred’ as well. And I’m sure it happens, but I always think of guys like Timana Tahu, Justin Hodges (in SOO) and Shane Warne all had embarrassingly bad debuts and all went on to have outstanding careers (well - with the notable exception of...

Even more ridiculous when you consider how many times he was left to shut down overlaps against him.

Personally I think he is better than Hodge on the wing. He was excellent on the wing for the Reds in 2018 when he had every excuse to be ordinary. His defensive positioning is as good as anyone else in the current Wallaby squad, IMO and, while I expect that to raise some eyebrows I believe it...

From what I’ve seen he kicks rarely but does have a good boot. I seem to recall him getting a few boomers away in both NRC & Super rugby.

Out of interest, does anyone know if Ben Skeen is on a flat hourly rate or if he is paid per referral/involvement?

I don’t agree with it - but I can kind of see the logic. Or at least I like Stewart enough that I would like to see him nail down a starting role. Unfortunately I think that is unlikely unless there is an option injury or some change to the configuration- such as JOC (James O'Connor) at 15 instead of in the...

Strong contributions from the wider squad are essential. How many times really do you see your best XV available? Plus, contributions from the bench are critical. Regardless of who the ‘best’ XV actually is, the contributions of the likes of Stewart, CFS, Campbell, Malolau, Fotuaika, Hockings...

Maybe - but I’d pick Petaia anyway, and I think To'omua & Beale are better bench options

Yeah - it’s flip of a coin for me. I think they’ve both looked better off the bench. Won’t be disappointed if White gets the nod. Hopefully he can find the form from Perth.
