NRC Rnd 3: Vikings v Brisbane City

Very unsatisfactory end to the game. I'd be fuming if another side had done the same to the Vikings. The Vikings won't get to the finals unless they can come up with a competitive scrum before next week. If they can't win their own scrum ball then they need to be challenging possession every...

NRC Rnd 3: Vikings v Brisbane City

Vikings again having a lot of trouble in the scrums. Two errors immediately off kick-offs, one a dropped ball by Enever and the other a lost ball by Pulu, have proved costly with 7 points to Brisbane resulting from each of the subsequent plays.

NRC Rnd 3: Vikings v Brisbane City

Valetini's return and Joe Powell on the bench are positives for the Vikings, but I'd really like to see Keunzle given the starting spot at 10 for a game or two to judge him against Lolesio who has been solid but not outstanding yet.

NRC Rnd 3: Vikings v Brisbane City

NB Reg. Brisbane will have the wood on the Vikings in the front row just like Qld Country did last week. Will set the foundation for a good win to the Brisbanites. EDIT: Fraser McReight will also have a field day pilfering Brumbies ball at the breakdown. Clearly the best young player coming...

NRC round 3: NSW Country Eagles vs Fiji Drua @ Wollongong Saturday 14 September 2019 @ 4pm

Tevita Naqali is surely the man to watch. Playing both locking positions at the same time.:);)

    Waratahs 2020

Overall, probably BH, but I thought Swinton was starting to hit his straps at the end. And so far in NRC, I really think Swinton has outplayed Hanigan. EDIT : the problem will probably go away when Dempsey (or Adrian's Darcy) misses the year again through injury.;)

    Rugby World Cup 2019

Very good reason for picking a second team WOB, but in my case it would be for the Jamesons aged in stout barrels.

    Reds 2020

Hammer, can I say you've nailed it? Of interest, I would have thought only you and I would prefer Blyth to Hockings, but no comment at all yet on that arrangement. One question. Is Malol,ua eligible to continue playing for the Reds after representing Samoa (?). I ask because Vunipola Fifita...

    Waratahs 2020

From an outsider's perspective, BH, I would have thought Swinton would start in preference to Hanigan. A much more aggressive player which is what the Tahs have missed in their forwards for some time. Otherwise, not a bad looking squad accounting for the losses/expected losses post RWC.

    Waratahs 2020

Not really true BH. I've been mentioning Porter for the last two years on and off, and pretty sure some of those would have been on a Tahs thread. I m ost recently questioned his absence from the Sydney NRC squad about two or three weeks ago, before any mention of being signed by the Brumbies...

    Brumbies 2020

Three home games to start the season. Should expect to have a better start than the past couple of years where they've been slow out of the blocks. My early tip is for the Brumbies and Reds to fight out the conference next year. But is there a conference? Or is it just straight out points on...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

Rapana actually showed promise with the Brumbies a few years ago. Has a rugby background and probably will go ok.

Wallabies v Samoa, Sat 7th September, 7.30pm, Bankwest (Parra) Stadium

He did miss at least a couple of fairly easy tackles. Well past being an option against the better international teams.

    NSW Teams 2019

Porter - good player but not sure where he fits into the Brumbies for next year. Both centre spots are well covered in my book. No 12 - Simone, Lolesio, Keunzle, Wright. No 13 - Kuridrani, Wright, Ikitau. Might be an indication that Simone is being considered for No 10? Still looking for a...

NRC Round 2 - Brisbane City vs Sydney

McReight MOTM by the length of Flemington Strait. Brilliant at the breakdown and dominant carrying the ball.

NRC Rd 2: Qld Country v Canberra Vikings - Sunday 3pm

Wind blowing up on the GC. Home ground and knowledge of conditions, together with a weakened Vikings front row, likely to get Qld Country the win.

Wallabies v Samoa, Sat 7th September, 7.30pm, Bankwest (Parra) Stadium

Poey hit multiple rucks, made many tackles, ran the ball in tight and acted as a link at other times with his outside runners. Made one pilfer that I recall. Not much more he could have done. Liam Wright was very impressive in his short cameo. Also hit rucks and made his tackles. Made at...

And therefore did very little benefit to the Wallabies' RWC program.

NRC Rnd 2: Fijian Drua v Western Force

And to repeatedly say that the defending side gets the feed to the 5m scrum when the attacking side is held up - just where do they get these wankers?
