    TRC2021 - All Blacks v Springboks @ Townsville 25/09

Against my better judgement I'm actually enjoying this game. Boks have lifted but look very sweaty in the FNQ weather. Let's see how they hold out in the tail end with the ABs putting the foot down.

Our kicking has improved immeasurably from when we were up against the ABs. Still needs heaps more improvement but we were a better team against Boks than we were against NZ.

ABs want a try. Thought they would have taken 3.

I don't watch NRL so not familiar with the ground. Have to say it looks like an absolutely awesome stadium. Those Books look bloody big and fit. Strange how it didn't work out that way against the Wallabies.

I'm really enjoying Rennie's press work. His comments and discussion are open, detailed and intelligent. Never worked up but capable of being blunt. Love it.

Exactly what Rennie said about it. McReight is sitting behind the skipper and given we want our best 23 there is no place for a specialised #7 non the bench. Guys like Samu and McMahon cover the back row, not just open side.

    Waratahs 2022

For Christ's sake, you want a "good news" thread? The concerns over western Sydney and management of the Waratahs are valid and completely on scope here.

And of course, if Hooper was rested, the back row options open up.

from many years of experience during the Reds dark years, any time I thought “it can’t get worse”, well it was just a lack of imagination on my part.

Yes. ish. The intent of the combination is there. But I'm not convinced that we won't find better personnel over time to push the matter further. I can only agree with this. And we are learning, well from my perspective anyway, that Rennie has a plan and we aught run with it.

That's the thing I find odd - we are pretty strong in the back row, albeit the perfect combo around Hoops isn't quite there. I wish McMahon all the best, but I am surprised at him being a Rennie target. So far, tbf, Rennie's targets have been spot on. Whatever the general rugby public think.

Grumpy. Look he's enjoying his rugby and having a devastating effect on the back of it. It's not like his scrum work is failing. He really could make an interesting forward pod to back link man - like Dane at his best. Could Tupou have got the second hand to the ball in the middle of going into...
