    TRC2021 - Wallabies v Boks @ Suncorp 18/09

I thought Valetini looked OK. Swinton is great but doesn't go much past half time and is a penalty risk. Samu was 10/10. I'd like to see Wilson back as well, just not sure how the back row ends up looking.

RC - Wallabies vs Springboks, Gold Coast Sunday 12 September 8:05 PM

I lived in the UK for 10 years and with an annual international training regime (very light compared to pro rugby players) it was pretty much impossible to meet residency criteria for a passport. So Quade’s trouble sorting things doesn’t seem strange to me. Being knocked back on what he has...

They both can go 80. But 9 is so key you’ll pretty much always have one on the bench. When they are this good, you use them.

Very pleasing to have this depth. Quade kicked into gear with both of them, which is also excellent.

    Wallabies 2021

Ha! Perhaps not the pilfer itself, but the maddening intent to not be outdone by the pack - well I don't mind that in a 9. And we sure as hell got use of it on Sunday. Awesome scrum would have meant nothing if White had not pounced. I'd start Tate mostly. But we should think about White against...

There would be more moaning about not wanting to call in the die-ing moments of the game. Yes, though, I'd be praising him.

I just want to say, with what is sometimes some bitching about the refereeing, the Luke Pearce was the most effective Ref that I have seen in a while. It didn't all go our way and we had some 50/50 calls, I particularly found some scrum penalties frustrating. BUT his officiating of the ruck...

If "ropey" means injured, then I agree. Tate easily the better half - most of the time. I wouldn't be concerned though with White starting against the Boks.

I had forgotten about Fainga's ankle cutters. He shouldn't play again until they have confidence they have resolved it. He's going to hurt someone. Joe, thinking about the broader role for JOC (James O'Connor), I like it. Banks out, Hodge to 15, JOC (James O'Connor) 23.

I wouldn't have chosen Kellaway in the 35. Couldn't be happier with him at this point though.

    Rugby Championship 2021

Possibly asking for Wallabies for 15 over Springboks is a tall order. Springboks get another chance to build against the Wallabies before the main game. Which will be big.

RC - Wallabies vs Springboks, Gold Coast Sunday 12 September 8:05 PM

Yes, and with a better kicking percentage they would not have been in that position. Plus they could have controlled the close better. Even so a palpable improvement for the Wallabies. Leota was great around the field, but I'd really be happier with another line out focussed lock. Bell is...

That's a touch low, RN. Looked genuine to me.

I'd agree, but in this case we had a ref who was all over the ruck. It could be painful at times, but certainly helped counter negativity. As long as interpretations go this way, I'm good with it.

We shouldn't forget White giving us the opportunity. He was fabulous. And Tate also before injury.

Ikitau? YEs he did. He was completely a part of the team tonight.

I'm not sure he was particularly effective (unlike Tate and White for instance) but he sure as hell was committed. Completely put his body on the line.

I wouldn't think that necessary. Our view of Quade was really out of date. Rennie has seen it first hand. I'm seriously chuffed that Rennie has the virtue of his convictions and has been smart enough to see it. Plenty would not have.
