    Super Rugby 2022

We’ve still got Super Rugby Pacific looking rocky on the back of NZ Govt reaction to Omicron (we have a thread for that too) and Aus govt not necessarily looking solid either. RA have been talking about contingency planning including season back-ending the TT matches. It's inevitable that some...

Yep. Nor am I pushing “exclusivity”, I just have a far, far greater interest in a Domestic season than forcing the comp to integrate Kiwis. We’ve been the tail wagging the dog for too long. My honest opinion is that we are in the short term better off ousting NZ. NZ is for now an albatross...

    Super Rugby 2022

I think that would be a fabulous compromise. I don’t mind playing the Kiwis. Just as the primary comp when we can have a domestic. A short form TT is fine, I just wouldn’t go that way if it was mutually exclusive with a full domestic comp.

    Super Rugby 2022

I don’t want the NZ govt to change their mind until we are committed to a domestic season. Pick up the discussion later for a shorter TT (or not c’est la vie) it’s not the way I would have planned it to happen, but I’ll take it.

I am very sympathetic to this view. A TT following domestic and before internationals would be good though.

    Wallabies 2023

I'm less sanguine. I'm OK with the season but I'm not at all happy and increasingly less full of joy running up to a Wallaby match. I do like what Rennie and the rest of the coaching team are doing. The rediscovery of Cooper and Kerevi is crazy and especially with Cooper somehow was a...

I know, BDA. It seemed to be the right place to respond though. My thinking is that it is an error to presume there will not be further actions, even lockdowns. There is a growing political resistance to lock down, but medically they have been useful and may be so again.

    Waratahs 2022

It is, I think, really easy to justify enough money to hold him. Not the kitchen sink? Maybe, but I'd head that way. Don't think there are too many current WB and (obvious) future stars at the Waratahs. Bell could be first on the list after Hooper.

I remember 8. Was that after losing to Kiwis or is it a memory-fart?

He was beyond the ball for Christs sake! Clearly. The tackler was completely eyes on the ball. Kellaway was injured which is shit, but the ref call is not hard to follow. we don’t have to look hard to find a fight worth picking from that game. Not this but.

    Waratahs 2022

I’m really looking forward to seeing Bell develop. The front row with he and Slipper at tight head was MUCH better than it had a right to be. Bell is a star imo.

So we started the year at 8? Ascended to 3? And now 6. Not as bad a year as it seems otherwise. disappointing all the same.

If calculations are correct WBs remain in top 10 but have fallen out of the top 5 - to 6th place. Seems about right, even if somewhat disappointing.

Surely a RC in any game and with any ref. Rennie had a moan about the decisions but made a point of accepting that one. I think he's right.

    Refereeing decisions

I thought "forward off the hands" meant forward in Rugby.

What a game for bizarre officiation. Hard to know where to start. I think RA is entitled to insist that TMO does not appear again. That was actually an OK WB game with 14 men for 68 mins and YC to boot. And the officiating. I'm happy to see the season over at this stage. A really shite result...

I love the way that Eddie Jones experiments with excellent players and how they might fir in with a bit a creativity. This is in that mould, I like it. Don't know how it would go, but I'd definitely support the attempt to test it out thoroughly.
