ESPN has him at 8 runs for 42m. Pretty bloody solid when you consider they were all through contact. Compared to: Valetini 9 runs 48m Tupou 5 runs 1

I honestly think the biggest difference is in the throwing from FF (Folau Fainga'a) et al. Far fewer that aren’t straight

I tell you what, how good is having a functioning lineout. One of the biggest difference makers compared to recent years

He was on his phone immediately on the sideline - probably flicking a quick text to his usual doc to give them a heads up

Wow, you have to feel for the bloke

Just doesn’t bother me knowing the result before watching. I might even prefer it - keeps the blood pressure down…

    Refereeing decisions

Kurt-Lee Arendse wasn’t it, not Kolbe? Absolutely agree - that was one of the worst in a while

Well I don’t think I was expecting to wake up to a bonus point win. Exactly what this group needed. A nice touch from Slipper here:

    Wallabies 2023

For a few years there it seemed McReight was very much being prepared as the longer-term heir - if he can perform while Hooper's out, you'd think he would have to be towards the top of the pile.

Really like the way that SMH have reported on this - very responsible and positive journalism. I dread the reaction that will no doubt come from the “take a spoonful of cement and harden up” crowd.

McReight gets his big break. Let’s see what he can do

    Reds 2023

Got mail this week that he picked up a minor quad tear kicking in the warmup for the game. Same leg as his previous foot and hammy injuries

Less flexibility and injury cover now - although could definitely do worse than Creighton, Henry, and Petaia

A good chunk of the Reds' Wallabies and best XV are only signed til '23 – I imagine re-signing them will be where the bulk of the pressure comes from

More speculation and reading between the lines from me – implying the Rebels maybe didn't?

    Reds 2023

I think it's (partly, at least) just a bit of unfortunate timing: ASY (Angus Scott-Young) made it clear a couple of years ago he was looking overseas in the near future in-line with his medical studies; and it's been pretty well covered that Mafi, Stewart, and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (and Tupou) were all each other's biggest reason to...

Interesting that the Reds put out the 'thank you' post for Fotuaika and TTT not even an hour ago with no mention of Stewart

Gonna be a bit tough for him and Mafi to be roommates isnt it?
