Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

Friendly reminder for those who, like myself, had forgotten - kickoff is 3:30 AEST on Saturday. Thanks to @PhilClinton who mentioned it in the QPR thread.

Risk of injury aside, it's bloody fantastic.

Two more years, great news. Hopefully he can get some time on the park https://reds.rugby/news/liam-wright-resigns-with-queensland-rugby-2022823?fbclid=IwAR1xbucdNYDzk8pbdb1l88qjacpEfw6feWAiEycW908k6c3phGoQT4XFWWE

Yeah fair enough - but you would've though his other injuries gave them a window to manage anything else ongoing, and that if it was something that clearly impacting his game, they would've pulled him to get it right. Something did seem off about him, but I can't put my finger on whether it...

    Wallabies 2023

It’s possible and it wouldn’t be the first time, but he’s also seemingly a very different person to that previous instance. Plus, given the transparency around his injuries throughout the year, I doubt he or the Reds would hide/not get on top of something additional that was impacting his game...

If his primary residence is in Aus, you would assume not. No different to an international holiday (as that’s what it is)

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

I agree in theory, although (and I have nothing to support this) my feeling is that he has his better games when he starts and can work his way into the game.

I would've thought Creighton comes on for JOC (James O'Connor) in the 2nd. Would be interesting to get a taste of JOC (James O'Connor) at 15 though, after the commentary around it earlier in the year. Not sure if his pace is up to it, even at club level.

    Wallabies 2023

I wouldn't call the wording particularly harsh or veiled either, particularly Rennie's words. Reads to me like a battle with illness or something longer-term for him or his family that's come to a head. Regardless, best wishes to him. I wouldn't mind seeing Gilmore. Or, what's Ryno up to these...

    Wallabies 2023

I just can’t believe he hasn’t learned to reel in the lip yet. We can’t afford to be penalised for it every other game.

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

Yeah forgot Kellaway was back - I’d have him over Campbell on form

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

I don’t think there’s any question whether Noah will be first-choice 10 now, with Foley/Hodge as the backups. The race for 15 will be interesting. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Campbell named.

    Wallabies 2023

Interestingly I’ve seen some Boks fans who are quite pessimistic about their chances against the Wobs. Can’t understand why, but hey, maybe there’s hope!

    Wallabies 2023

ItsRugby and Rugby Pass both have him at 8 caps, but yes only one starting. Mighty impressive. Would be a good bit of trivia to know if anyone's had fewer before being brought into the squad

    Wallabies 2023

Put this in the Reds thread but also relevant here. A bit ominous isn't it

    Wallabies 2023

Regardless of thoughts on his form (I differ from many in that I didn't think he was that poor, particularly his last two appearances), it's a massive call to drop JOC (James O'Connor) for Foley. I hope he's the latest to have a redemption arc in gold (following on from JOC (James O'Connor) and Quade), but the thought of him...

Seems like it - Roar saying squad is released at 3:30

    Wallabies 2023

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Wright was always billed as a winger/fullback and had reasonably consistent exposure at fullback throughout his earlier years in particular.
