Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

We will come up against other sides that a power game will be needed against...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Also assuming the other pack has Skelton in the second row. Play hard and close and basically smash the other pack. We play the Pooper 15 against England and the other against less robust packs

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I would suggest going hard up the middle for the first quarter and establishing dominance and then pick when and where you want to go wide. The problem was that we were trying to go wide under enormous pressure against a very fast rush defense. Establish dominace in the middle, at the set piece...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Its very surprising to hear we were playing a game based on spreading the ball wide, quickly and at every opportunity with that pack. I would have thought that we had the cattle with Palu, McCalman, Douglas, Simmons, Slipper, TPN & Holmes to go right up the middle and make it work effectively...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

As far as I can see the starting and reserve halves are the only real question along with the locks. I am willing to bet we see Phipps and Foley start with QC (Quade Cooper) not in the 23 for the Fiji game. Thats his go to pair and he will call on them again. No need for a backup 10 with To'omua on the bench...

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

I would imagine that between Ledesma, Cheika, Moore, Simmons and Mumm they would be able to throw together a decent lineout.....no? They should take Sharpie on board. He won't ask too much.

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

The only comment I would make regarding the 23 is that McMahon is the only true fetcher/openside, and he is really a 6 in disguise as a 7. If I was the USA I would target the breakdown big time. If he goes down we could struggle This will be a good test for McMahon to see if he can influence the...

He has the opportunity. He performed adequately for the Brums there but this will be a step up.

Anyway. It's too late now to work about it. I assume that USARUGBY assumed it would be a slam dunk after the last game. The game is live on TV in the USA and is closely followed by the RWC. It was a very genuine opportunity for USA Rugby to generate some further interest in the sport.

Really excited about this game. Hopefully we put forward a decent side aimed at scoring tries. No injuries please

    When is the side named?

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

It's all very well to say we should rest all our top line players but we do need to win and win well. Watching the Eagles against Harlequins on the weekend showed that they are quite capable. Their set piece is solid and they have some good X facta in the backs. Where they were vulnerable was at...

Do you think if we run him out but list him as Joe Tomane anybody will notice?

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Mumm may be our back up 6 but if Fardy is injured or rested that means we pretty much must play the other three(locks) including Skelton. There are a lot of limiting factors with this squad.

Except that he is our starting LH. Maybe Smith will be a hooker in scrum training or they will bring in someone already in the UK.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Mumm can be considered an out and out lock I think Higgers and McMahon can both go. This means that White(or 3rd half back) and Palu miss out and we go with an 18-13 split, which is likely with Cheika. McMahon is the 3rd 7 to give the Pooper a break and Higgers backs up Fardy and is an option...

Bledisloe #2 - AUS v NZL, Eden Park, Auckland, August 15th

I am a bit late on this but didn't notice until now. Shouldn't Conrad Smith have gotten a card for taking out AACs legs when he was in the air fielding a kick? He half pulled out but still grabbed his legs causing him to topple.

    Reds 2016

That is just ridiculous from every angle. The amount of damage thats has already been done is reversible with a new coach and some new players. But another year like the last and the Reds will be basement dwellers for a while. I guess they haven't bottomed out yet. Carmichael has to go....no?

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I tend to agree with Blue on this one. He is very big and hard to move but just about all of the top 5 or 6 sides at the RWC will be playing a speed game. We saw how much our lineout suffered with him in the side and with other options available like Douglas and Carter with higher work rates and...
